I don't think you have such high expectations as a newbie. Frankly, the Bones pilot is one of the best pilots I've watched so far, but it wouldn't have made me a hardcore Bones fan... And it was like that with every first episode in every season.

I gave it a 3.5 only because the big dub(the hubby) actually LAUGHED out loud in quite a few spots, and he barely watches Bones with me, although he has come to terms with my obsession!!
