Re: FIND A FAN CAMPAIGN

I recruited my husband, who then put the first season on his iPod to catch up. He lent the iPod to his brother at work, who watched four straight eps and got hooked.

Then during the strike, I recruited my mother, who can't get over the fact that a man as hot as DB existed without her knowing it.

And finally, my dad was just in town. I put on Wannabe in the Weeds, saying, "You know, you don't watch anything on Wednesdays, this is on Wednesday, hint hint." He said sarcastically, "Yeah, I've got all the time in the world." Then when Booth blacked out at end of the episode, he was like, "What?! Is that it?" Same thing when he watched aPitH next...he was left wanting more....so there is hope for him yet!
So that's 3 for me - 4 if dad comes aboard!

I've hooked a friend at work. My son watched all of Angel this summer when he was home from school, so hopefully Bones will follow. :-)

Oh ho ho. My whole family so sat down and watched Bones last night, even after I left the room to go and try and get some homework done, the watched the whole thing and I could even hear dad laughing. So have them hooked.

That and I caught my sister with my Bones DVDs stashed in her room. I threw a hissy at her cause she wasn't looking after them right. She thought I was mad, but she still took them back. Haha. Busted. And after she said it was crap. Laughing

3 more for the tally.

found a fan in hiding today. One of the guys at work (you know the type all macho and "knows everything") let it slip that his favorite show premiers tomorrow at 8 with a two hour episode from England. Yep, found another one. sunny

The middle school psychologist and her husband, who live in my town and who I babysit for sometimes (all the parts of my life are very interconnected). So 2 new fans. Rock on, Bones fans!
An amusing, vaguely related anecdote: As I was dropping off the season 2 DVDs, I passed a history teacher in the halls. When she spotted them, she told me that she LOVES the show and does dancing phalanges to her baby.

Re: FIND A FAN CAMPAIGN

Post by DBCrazy on Thu Nov 06, 2008 11:40 pm

Hello all, I'm not so much reporting that I found a new fan of the show, as I am reporting Myself as a new fan of the show!

I'd seen the commercials in the past and had been interested, but hadn't watched for who-knows-what-reason (I think I just didn't watch FOX). Then this summer I found Angel (way not my genre!), and from there I've just been looking and finding more and more about DB - TV, internet, movies, fanfic! I've watched the first season, and asked the video store to get the next two. And of course I've been watching everything this season. It's a great show, I like the whole of it!

And if I may, I'd like to reply to a comment made much earlier in this thread
by Meegs82 about DB "... But like you said, he's good looking, but not amazing ..."
Objectively I'd have to agree that he's not amazing. He's good, but not amazing.
But Subjectively ... I can almost swoon at the mere thought of him, let alone watching him ply his trade!
-- And that makes it even Oh.So.Much.Better!

I'm too old for this!

Well, I never did get the video store to get anything past the first season. Now they're going out of business - is it karma? I bought all three seasons and now I'm caught up on the whole thing. And now I have my sister as a fan - I didn't really know if she would like it, but she really does!

DB Crazy, welcome to the ABY!!! No woman is ever too old to swoon over David! Wink And I agree that it isn't his looks (although he is quite handsome) that makes me think he's so adorable... it's his gestures, his looks, his smiles. Wink

Thanks for the welcome, ForensicMama, and for trying to make me feel free to swoon! I'm from the generation that "adored" someone by buying teen magazines, plastering their posters on your bedroom walls, and maybe having them on a lunchbox or something (think David Cassidy and the Partridge Family, or the Osmond Brothers).

I'm not dangerous, but dang if this doesn't feel something akin to cyber-stalking sometimes. I never got that feeling with the magazines when I was a kid. Can somebody explain to me what's going on??
