● The New York native, 30, dishes to StarWeekly about life in lab coats, catching the bad guys--and making the Tinseltown dean’s list in his spare time.




SW: For two seasons, you’ve played Cody—star quarterback, brainy student, and crackerjack forensic investigator. That’s a lot of ground to cover.




DN: It can be a challenge sometimes. But playing Cody has really allowed me to really dive in to what it means to be an actor, to expand my craft, know what I mean? Just learning all those big science words, and getting those lab gloves on without looking like a geek. Takes a lot of work. But the fans make it worth it.




SW: I can imagine. Cody is such a layered, complicated character. The episode when he flirted with addiction to No-Doz in order to meet the demands of college life and solving crimes. That must have been a difficult performance.




DN: Yeah, that was really tough. I felt like I was living it, man. I was really on edge, I didn’t sleep for like two whole days. Rough. Lucky that Cody had Brittney [co-star Shelby Drake] to pull him through the dark days.




SW: And speaking of your study-buddy and crime-solving partner—any chance you’ll confirm the buzz that you and Shelby are dating?




DN: [laughs] No comment.


SW: Okay, okay. But we had to try!



DN: Sure, I understand. Shelby is an awesome woman. She really inspires me, every single day. I just want to keep the focus on the show. The episodes that we are shooting now are going to take these characters to a whole new level.



SW: Ooh! Interesting. Any tidbits you can pass on to the fans?



DN: Man, the producers are going to kill me for saying this--but let's just say Cody has to go through a lot of trust stuff when his fraternity brothers start coming down with a mystery rash. The investigation is tough, but it brings him--and the team--to a very Zen moment.



SW: Sounds zen-tastic



DN: Yeah, we're all pretty psyched.

I'm amused by the googling. I wonder what you think you are finding?

nothing... that's it... but I didn't know it was one of the hints... so I googled the show and guess what happened: Nothing! Nada! =)
