hey razz, its more than the cubs that happened to the jays. its the PLAGUE of ineffective offense that is rearing its ugly head.

awwww, I'm sorry. I know all too well about ineffective offense. I'm still stunned we're doing so well! Almost waiting for it to just fall apart ;-).

ha ha, no need for apologies razz, the jays are just letting this season go - the talent is there, its just a mental thing. as i said, spreading like a plague...

i actually was at the jays-cubs game on saturday at the rogers centre in TO... i wish i could say that it was a good game, but the jays stopped playing around the 2nd inning (our short stop eckstein made an embarrassing play and that was it), so your cubbies didn't even have a chance to really show their stuff. as my base ball guru mike wilner at the local sports radio station says: "This baseball thing is so much easier when you actually have people who can hit the ball out of the park on a regular basis." cubs have it. jays? not even close.

Thank god I was out getting drunk at a ball tournament, because I could not have watched that!!! DAG NABBIT!!

haha, no arguments there, ehbee. But what I think is more of a relief, as a cubs fan, is that the cubs *aren't* relying on the homeruns to win. They're getting a lot of walks, singles, doubles... very good. That's what was always missing. Dlee, Ramirez and others never had problems hitting it out... but you'd just get solo home runs and it's not enough. Now they're playing better baseball... watching more pitches, working the count. *happy sigh* good times.
