I know, whenever I see that episode I start bouncing up and down going "Newton metres is the unit for torque! Not force!"

Last time I checked we didn't swing our arm out in an arc when we stab someone! Or maybe isn't just me who stabs things with an up and down motion...? Laughing

Men stab overarm, women stab underarm, if thats what you mean? The arc stabbing on the visual is funny though.

I stab overarm...not people obviously...but things that require a good stabbing.

I meant "maybe it's just me..." whoops, I hate this keyboard.

Next time I'll stab in an arc so we can measure my torque in Nm

What on earth have you been stabbing?!

I think the way I stabbed would depend on what I was stabbing and why I was stabbing it.

I think that would be a good choice, reenactment anyone?

Sometimes when I am cooking I stab things just for fun...Yes, I am a weird child.

I guess you are right with the stabbing. It would depend on the situation, if the thing I was stabbing was taller than me then I would probably go underarm...Cause you would have more chance of a fatal blow...

Same with if I were taller, I would probably stab overarm.

Well stabbing food is fun, in a non-creepy manner. I don't cook enough though, not after the Great Taco Incident of 2005.

Yeah if I was trying to kill something larger than me, it would be an underarm upward thrust rather than an overarm downward stab. I guess the underarm thrust would also be harder for the potential victim to block as well...

True, and it would be easier in some cases to put more driving force behind the thrust too. Less chance of your arm getting grabbed too. I can see the benefits of the underarm. Straight into the belly too.

I guess it depends on the height difference, but I was thinking from the stomach upwards so through the diaphragm maybe.

That would cause issues. How much taller are we talking though, cause, yeah, now I visualise it I see diaphragm. Don't know how fatal though, depends how hard you could thrust up and how much taller they were, cause if they were of the same average height you could almost maybe go all the way though the diaphragm, depending of the length of stabbing apparatus.

But again, are we going underarm and thrusting right up and into the thing, like piking a vollyball, or are we going underarm and straight in almost horizontal? Cause that would make a difference.

I was thinking average height of around 5'8", so 5" taller than me and assuming I was using a bogstandard kitchen knife, like the big stabby ones you use to cut watermelon and aiming under the ribcage from below, middle of the body.
