Anniversary Notes, Thank You's and other Lovely Things
Okay gals and guys, I thought that it would be a great idea to share some of our thoughts and feelings on the ABY. Like share our favorite moment or something like that. I know that this has been a fun place to come to after lots of homework and stuff like that during the school year.
So I think it would be cool to share something, or nothing at all.
Mine follows below.
HAPPY ANNIVERSARY ABY!!!!!!!!!

Re: Anniversary Notes, Thank You's and other Lovely Things
Oh and I didn't check this for errors. And sorry if I offend anyone. Please email me if there are problems.
I remember the day that I went back on the computer from class to find that my email inbox was filled with emails explaining what happened in the wake of my classes. I was appalled to hear about all the injustice that had occurred.
But you know what, I’m almost happy it happened. You know why? Because we came to a place where we could have pretty pictures and say bad words and do all sorts of things that we could never do. But I’m not here to explain all the lovely sappiness that the ABY provides. No, I want to remember the good times of the past year.
There are a few moments that struck as the best times on the ABY. These are the times where we are not a bunch of women (or men) in front of computers, but more like a bunch of friends around a table sharing stories.
I believe the first funny moment occurred on 6 October 2007. I remember that Sany was at her sister’s wedding and then there was Grandma, Gimmie, and Anna all drinking and posting. [On a side note, when I turn 21 I will be sure to stay far, far away from the computer on the weekends.] I was home for Columbus Day weekend and my family was all asleep at like 11. There were a few people that were drinking and posting and boy, there were only a few times I ever laughed that hard. Everyone remembers the Anna and the Boots stealing the remote story. I remember making fun of Sany for terrible spelling who then cursed at me for doing so. They say that laughter is the best medicine; well then referrals should be sent for the ABY.
The next time I remember being lots of fun was the time when I told the bakery sex story. I have no clue what was wrong with me that night, but boy, I had muffins screwing bagels while screwing lollipops. I mean seriously, erotic food stories are very rare. Perhaps I should start a trend…
Then came November and the ABY road trip took place. Certain crazy people decided that they would hop in a car and drive to visit a certain crazy college student. Fly, Cup, Luli, and Poppet visited I, thee Kasper up in Boston. It was an interesting day, a day when the best inside joke ever was formed. Fly is a pretzelphile, she loves pretzels more than I love Booth, and well that’s hardly even measurable (because it’s so far off the scale). Well her computer was hijacked and I learned that she had a crumb problem in bed. Her best kept secret was out to the world, Fly was in love with pretzels, the best kind because those with the salt on them. You know, for added feel. Ah, now that was an interesting day. Unfortunately, Fly couldn’t kidnap me for I had to get back and write a chemistry lab report.
Well then, the next best night was New Years. It was fun sharing it with people around the world as the time zones changed. I remember some interesting comments about balls dropping (no, we here at the ABY are not pedophiles). Ah that was another fun night.
All in all, the ABY has been such a great place to make friends from all over the world. I can say that I “know” someone from Estonia and Kentucky because that’s just cool. My friends are always wondering what I’m up to, or why I always have a goofy smile on my face. And you know why? Because I am here. At the ABY. And I’d like to take this time to thank you all for providing me with memories that have just made life a little better than it’s been in the past. I’ve had so many laughs and so many memories, and I just wish that there was a chance to meet the most of you that make this place the way it is. Thank you very much!
Your favoritest ghost ever,
Kasper.
PS.
I’d like to say a few thank yous.
First off, I think that the every member should stand up and take a bow because it is you (well us) that make the ABY what it is. We are the people that just somehow click online and make things work. It’s a place to actually be yourself and have fun. And we each provide something that makes the place unique from other message boards. Kinda like one big cyber-family.
And I’d like to thank Willi and the moderators. You guys put lots and lots of work into the board, making it look absolutely sexy to the eye. If it wasn’t for you, it would be this boring old brown place. And who wants that? No one. Exactly. So bravo for the job you’ve done and let’s hope for many more of these!!!

Re: Anniversary Notes, Thank You's and other Lovely Things
Kas,
What an awesome idea!!
To the ABY on the night before your first anniversary!!!
I just want to start out by saying how proud I am of "our" little site. I say ours, because I truly believe we have all had a hand at making this site what it is. Whether Willi is asking for colour schemes, or moderators(obviously not ME, no matter how I beg!!) or just getting the authors to congregate in an absolutely UNBELIEVABLE fanfic section, or posting pics and articles, she is always available! I also LOVE how you can find anyone who has similar interests as you, no matter what. I love joking around in the MLB thread or teasing Canuckle about her beloved Fly*GAG*ers in the NHL thread, but I must say the IHBFC will always hold a special place in my heart. I haven't been getting on as much as I would like to in recent months, but it doesn't mean I don't love this place wholeheartedly. I also think that we have a great group of people, there is no infighting or backstabbing, and even if there are differences of opinion it is dealt with in a friendly and mature matter. I think the set up is great! If you don't like spoilers, you don't have to read them, but you can always get the latest news!
Some of my favorite moments over the last year....hmmm, that's a hard one! One of the top ones has to be finally getting to talk with a number of fellow members on the phone. A2B, Willi, Ana, Fab, Rosie, Ehbee, and of course my b-sis Turi, I treasure your friendships which will of course continue beyond the Bones years.
We have had a few great nights in this place, whether it be the beginning of Funny Bones Productions(which technically started at the "Bones" website) or Rosie and Bizzles poem offs, the laughs have been loud and proud. I know my husband thinks I'm nuts.
I have had WAY too much fun to nail it down to a few, but I do know that I have found a wonderful group of people and I'm here to stay!!
So to Willi, our queen Admin, and to the rest of this crazy crew, I say....CONGRATULATIONS on our first year! Let the good times continue to roll and the show continue to get better!!
Love ya all!

Re: Anniversary Notes, Thank You's and other Lovely Things
Memories? Hmm…where to start? Gosh, there are just so many…
Well, kasper covered some of mine…my drunken ramblings, (excuse me, I wasn’t drunk, only tipsy), the road trip…actually, that road trip, for me, was one of the best things that happened to me from the aby. I met the most wonderful bunch of people you could ever meet, and I’ve never laughed so hard in my life! Kas hijacking my computer, then torturing me the entire ride back to BC talking in a stupid accent…it’s just indescribable. Lol.
Let’s see…oh yes, how could I forget the apostrophe police…and the sweet nicknames kas and kiki gave me…oh, and who could forget the sexy taco?! And shoutbox shenanigans! Haha, so funny! And kas, who lurks and always knows exactly when to show up…like every time I say anything about her, she seems to instinctively know, and pops up! Oh, and joking with kas and loony on the NHL thread... Gosh, there are just so many, too many to list!
And I remember days when I was just down, and wasn’t even feeling like chatting, but I would have to log on…and no matter who was there, in no time, I’d be smiling and feeling much better. I’m blessed to have a close family who is always there for me, but sometimes there are just some things you can’t say to them…but I can always say anything here, and know that people care and are listening. And it’s amazing to me that I can log on and post one sentence, and everyone asks me if I’m okay, cuz they can tell I’m not quite myself, but people I’ve known for years don’t even seem to notice in person. Believe me when I say that you are all my family, and I love you all. Words can’t begin to describe how grateful I am to know all of you. And it was nice to know that, though it seems that I’m known as a person that people can talk to and tell their problems to, it goes both ways. So thank you, everyone, for being there for me…even if you didn’t know it. Believe me, I’m not sure I would have made it through these past few months without all of you.
But I would be remiss if I didn’t send a special shout out to willi, without whom we’d never be here. Trust me, I may give you a hard time, but I do know just how much you do for us, keeping the board pretty, (LOVE THE ORANGE!), and all the work you do…THANK YOU, QUEEN WILLGIRL!
Anyway, I’m sure there are lots of other things I could say, but it’s getting kinda long and sappy, so…HAPPY ANNIVERSARY, ABY!!!
Oh, and kasper…thanks for making sure everyone out there knows about my pretzel fetish…I certainly appreciate that…

Oh yeah, I must confess. Even at the original IHBFC at the Boneyard on Fox, I was an avid lurker in the IHBFC. The original. And I must say that I enjoyed the old poems and stuff.

Re: Anniversary Notes, Thank You's and other Lovely Things
It’s hard to pick favourite memories but the very first day at the ABY was definitely rewarding. After awakening to the news that the IHBFC was gone and to a ton of emails in my inbox, I decided in some out of brain experience to create another Bones message board. I set it up in its very rudimentary form and then sent out an email telling several people about it. Well those people told other people and before I realized it, I had people signing up left, right and centre!
It wasn’t even just my friends on the board, people came forward and noted how they disliked what was happening on the main forum and stood up with us and left. I remember the utter amazement upon realizing that we had amassed about 65 members in several hours! And we kept getting more and more.
It was a great moment, and one of the most rewarding. It’s hard to explain what it feels like to go out on a limb and turn around and see so many people back you up.
I’ve made a great number of friends on this board, in fact, when I lost my job; they were one of the first people I told. They have always backed me up during what I like to call my year of transition.
The members of this board are top notch and although I have yet to chat with everyone, I hope to in the future!
Okay, enough rambling, I will have more to say tomorrow.

all I have to say:
The Lab: we do not have a KING, we're a democracy... so cease this silly game, you do not rule us. Currently that is Angela's Computer's job.
Hal: Lab, I am your father

Re: Anniversary Notes, Thank You's and other Lovely Things
Hey!
I must say at first, I am not been here from the start. I mean at the ABY. First I joined ABY at the old site, when my dear friend Karlia told me that this site existed. As a new Bones fan, I was interested. I am Estonian, and estonians usually are reserved and quiet people(nooot Karlia, she is an exception). Not like you, americans, who are always smiling and talking and sooo happy people. So I was at first that too. Lurking around the ABY, reading posts and secretly posting. But when I got to IHBFC, then it changed my mind. People were so happy and so friendly. So it changed me. I am now a full-time Bones and ABY fan and I am proud of it.
So thank you ABY. You have introduced me with many-many cool people.
AND HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
Thank you for being here for us, ABY. AND Moderators and Administratosrs, who is doing a incredibly good job!
You make me proud

Re: Anniversary Notes, Thank You's and other Lovely Things
Hhehe......first of all HAPPY BIRTHDAY ABY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Even though I was quite a lurker in the old ABY, as you can see since the new board is up I've done nothing but posting.
ABY is the first page I open up in the morning when I turn my laptop on and the last page I visit before going to bed.
Very often going to bed happens well past midnight as it's always so hard to leave.
IHBFC is an awesome place, very nice people, with whom you can talk about everything. They cheer you up when you're feeling down, and they're always so supportive. They always help you as they can.Sometimes I laugh so hard , tears are rolling down my face. Because some conversations are hilarious!
As I say to everyone ABY is the best Bones forum in the universe, as there's no better place than that.
Special thanks to Will, who has done an awesome job and created ABY as it is now. It's a special place for me and I'm always more than happy to sign in and talk to the people. Thanks to your board I've found so many precious friends from all over the world.
So just so you know I LOVE ABY

Re: Anniversary Notes, Thank You's and other Lovely Things
oh my where doe one start????? well i was born in.......oh not that far back....(no wisecracks anyone)........
it all started with the show House........yes House......i watched it all the time....and when i lost my job there were endless hours spent on the computer......i ended up in the fox forums.........tallking and chatting as i do here......then i noticed a commercial for bones.........it was for 'aliens in spaceship'.......thought to myself.....okay how are they going to get out of this one........so i logged on to the boneyard..........where the very first person i met was ihartbooth.........shortly after that encounter came the IHBFC.........and the rest of you lovely peeps..........
