David as Green Lantern Rumor Debunked

Latino Review provides a hybrid script review/rumor debunking in one article when they turn their sights towards 'Green Lantern'.

First up, there's apparently a rumor making the rounds that actor David Broeanaz ('Bones') was up for the lead role in the film. LR looked into and found out the rumor was completely untrue. The script is out to actors but Boreanaz isn't one of them.

The reason? He's too old. Hal Jordan is meant to be in his late twenties, whereas the former 'Buffy' and 'Angel' star is in his late thirties.

What the heck?!??! That's pretty harsh. David is TOO OLD??!!!?! I am not liking it. Though I do understand the context. Still, word usage is pretty clumsy.

I was excited to see David get this role... I mean not only for my benefit to see him in that tight green superhero outfit either... ok well maybe just a little.

that's definitely harsh to say too old. but then again in an agency half based on looks it doesnt surprise me sometimes. I mean people get this alot and not always age. I know a kid who almost got a role on a movie but didnt get the last call back because he had a dimple on his chin. but definitely harsh to say too old.

i wonder who they will cast then...

Amen to that. I think that David Boreanaz is WAY HOTTER now than when he was a young man. I look at pictures of him in Angel and it does nothing for me, but now he is one hot studmuffin. Oh, yeah. He has aged very nicely.

I just know that in the end some cute little boy without any muscles and a body every 12 year old would feel ashamed with will get the role......and I will not watch this movie!

Apparently this role has finally, FINALLY been cast ... and the winner is ... Ryan Reynolds. Who would have ever thought he'd look like this back in the old days when he was on "Two Guys, a Girl, and a Pizza Place" ?

He is only a few years younger.....and not nearly as hot as DB.....

I think he is one of those that change their age depending on the mood.....if you google him you'll find at least three different birthdays.....and he is looking nice, you're right......but well we are kinda biased here, aren't we?

RR? Huh. Well, I for one can see it. He's never been my cuppa looks-wise, but he's pretty good for GL/Hal Jordan.

What's so harsh about saying David's too old? xD "Old" should not instantly be taken as an insult, it's just a fact. It's like saying Zac Efron is too young (among other things) to play Hal Jordan. Ain't an insult

I'm not familiar with Ryan Reynolds but I can see it... sort of... not everyone is lucky enough to have the natural superhero build like David, so we'll have to make do
