How was your vacation?
Hey there sweeties...
as some of you may know this little european (meaning me) and her fiancé (ahhh, meaning my fiancé) left the continent for a big, no make that HUGE, vacation.
4 weeks in the United States.
Well, we had a pretty tight schedule and saw lots and lots of things... and since some of you seem to be eager to look at a few pics, I'll post them in here... Not all at a time, mind you... we took more than 5000 and I'm sure our queen admin wouldn't be all too happy with me. I have a few ready now and might be adding more from time to time.
First, a short recap of where we were (we drove 5600 miles in total)
Our flight left from Munich to Paris, then from Paris to San Francisco, where we spent a few days... (incl. my birthday).
After a few days in Frisco, we got our rental car and took off towards Yosemite. Then Tioga Pass. We drove to Las Vegas through Death Valley. Spent two night at Las Vegas (Treasure Island). Later we drove to Arizona, where we spent a few days at Lake Powell (where I hurt my foot... stupid me). There we saw the Horseshoe Bend, the Antelope Canyon... and the Wave (Northern Coyote Buttes), for which it's not easy to get a hiking permit.
Next stop was Moab, Arches National Park. Spent a night in Cedar City, then Zion National Park. We drove to by a town called Seeley (no shit!) near Salton Sea California, btw
We drove to Palm Springs too... where it was hotter than hell, really.... Feels like being inside an oven - horrible.
We've been to Sea World, San Diego and made a ship tour at San Diego harbour.
Next stop, Anaheim, Disney World. Then Los Angeles area... Hollywood (which isn't as shiny and polished as they want us to believe. Santa Monica, Venice Beach, Santa Barbara. Drove along the coast up to Big Sur. Santa Cruz, San Jose... and back to San Francisco (oh and we also visited Sequoia National Park)
After a few days in Frisco our flight to Atlanta left.... We visited a friend of mine who moved there last year and stayed with her and her bf for a few days. We went shopping in an outlet center and visited the Georgia Aquarium, which was awesome.
All in all it was great vaction, but returning home was good too
Pics will follow soon!
I hope this thread will be used as general info-exchange on vacations!
Virtual hug to all of you!

Re: How was your vacation?
thanks for your nice words... as I may have mentioned before, my fiancé is an avid photographer..... it's kind of hard to separate him from his cameras....
Nah, we did not see Criss Angel... we only spent two nights in Las Vegas... the first evening we saw Jubilee (an old-fashioned revue show with show-girls... it was an awesome experience!) the second evening we had tickets for the Cirque du Soleil Show 'O' (the one with water, located in the Bellagio.... this was beyond awesome, really!)

Re: How was your vacation?
more pictures of the wave and our way there (northern coyote buttes, arizona and utah)... as you can see on one of the pics a thunderstorm was following us most of the time, but never really came down (thank god!)..... the day before that hike at the wave (it was labour day) had been a rainy day... imagine!!! not exactly what you'd expect of that area. A whole day only rain, rain, rain

First, we only had time to enjoy a swimming pool twice and didn't waste it by taking pictures *G* and second, I wouldn't post it here... don't want you to sue me, in case you lose your eyesight

Oh, Cheese. I am so jealous of your experience! I especially like your photos of national parks and those formations of nature. Those waves are just mesmerising so as the Horseshoe bend. I would like to see more of your pictures here. What's your answer?
