Re: Twilight Junkies

It was my least favorite book going in, but I actually didn't mind the movie as much as I thought I would. There were a few moments that I don't want to spoil for those who have not seen, but they did kind of change some things and edit them out, but it worked. The fact there was a different director was definitely evident.

The one thing that bugged me (well, not the only one), was the audience itself. All the little crazy teeny fangirls squeeing over Edward one minute and then cheering and clapping when Jacob came on next.

Oh yeah, and the end? Totally done that way to ignite the fangirls.

oh I was definately in a mostly Jacob theater... and went with two Jacob girls and I heard a lot of ripping on Edward and I think that helped make my experience less enjoyable.

But overall I thought it took a long time for anything to really happen. It felt like the longest movie of all time. And I thought it ended that way in the book as well.
I don't remember I guess.

Anyway... I actually am going to jump on the I don't like Rob very much bandwagon and say... that this guy should have played Edward...

Paul Wesley... he's currently playing Stefan in the Vampire Diaries and doing a really good Edward in the process... As far as mannerisms go and what I pictured Edward as... Paul Wesley rocks my world...

He also looks better without a shirt on....

I like KStew actually, but I do admit her constant blinking in this movie was kind of irritating. Very jittery, I think, but I liked her none the less.

Now, they finished filming Eclipse two weeks ago. We just have to wait until June, so it's not completely horrible.

And I didn't know we only had to wait till June! That's awesome!

Well, I loved it, but New Moon was my fav book of the series because of all the Jacob in it. That's right...I'm definitely Team Jacob. I just can't imagine standing Edward and Jacob side by side shirtless and not choosing Jacob. That chest of his is amazing!!

I'll go back and see this one again next weekend probably, but I doubt I go see Eclipse. After New Moon the books are all about Edward so I'd rather just keep the vision of Jacob firmly planted in my head. I recently went back and re-read Breaking Dawn and realized I hated it. LOL....so I really won't go to see it.

I think SM should rewrite the entire series letting Bella choose Jacob instead. THAT'S a story I'd like to see. Smile

It thought it was done better than the first one. But I still pretty much wanted to pop Jacob the whole time and actually found myself wondering if he owned any clothes. Did he really need to be half naked all the time? And what was with Bella's nighttime screaming... I could not help but laugh and for the first time I found Bella getting on my nerves as well. I also was not a big fan of 'ghost' Edward. But I did enjoy Alice's vision of the future straight out of Breaking Dawn. (Apparently I am in the minority in this as well.)

I also realize I am probably the only person in the world who did not so much enjoy the movie, or the naked Jacobnes. But after awhile I just found the whole thing annoying. Which is really a credit to them, I felt the same way about the book so they must be doing something right.

That said however, I will probably go and see it again, just to see if I am crazy for not enjoying it the first time. I just hope I can forget how much Jacob reminds me of a silly love sick whiney teenage girl.

Absolutely no critisicms here. it was perfect. all that could be expected from condensing a book that long into a 2 hour movie.
Edward = delicious
Jacob = delicious
Bella...not as annoying as kstew in the first one.
going to see it again tomorrow!

I just saw it this afternoon. I went to a matinee and there were only about 20 people in the theatre. The only time there was much noise was the first time Jacob whipped his shirt off--and who could blame them? Holy mother of God, that boy has an awesome torso! Definitely puts Rob's in the shade. And I'm not going to complain about how much Jacob's shirt was off. KStew was a lot less annoying, though I still don't think she's a very good actress. Did anyone else notice that RP hardly ever looked directly at KStew? It was a bit irritating. I mean, he's supposed to be completely in love with the girl, so you would think he wouldn't be able to tear his eyes off her.

I thought the F/X were awesome, and the sparkly effect seemed to be a little better this time. I think the change in director definitely made a difference.

One thing the reviewers seem to be saying the most--that it was very mopey and self-pitying. Well, anyone who had a bad breakup in their teen years can relate--if FEELS like the end of the world, you do mope around a lot and walk around in a daze and spend hours up in your room staring at nothing. I totally could relate to this part of the books and the movie did a great job of portraying it.

Overall, I liked this one a lot better than the first one and I will def buy the DVD when it comes out.

I saw New Moon at the midnight showing, not as good as I thought it was gonna be. I liked it, it was good, don't get me wrong, but they cut A LOT out! If they would have added a bit more, it probably would have been better. Still a good movie though. Smile

I went and saw it yesterday. And first off can I say that my friend and I had the best seats in the theatre lol! Right in the middle, high up but not too high up. Perfect view of the screen. Anywho, I went into the movie with not that high expectations. After watching it though, I totally loved it. Except the ending. The ending really really really irked me. But at least we don't have to wait that long until Eclipse. I would definately see it again

yep very true. i think the third will be awesome cause when you think about it, theres really not too much happening in terms of storyline, so they'll be able to fit more into the movie. i can't wait though!

After watching New Moon again, I'm still not in love with it. But it was better than I remembered it being. However, I still laugh really hard when Bella sees ghost edward for the first time. Oh ghost edward, how you make me laugh. I'm thinking of composing a sonnet to ghost edward and crazy bella. Also edward looks much better with his shirt off on my laptop with fuzzy horrible quality so you can't see how pale he is. When I buy new moon I am going to have to figure out how to recreate such distortions.
