Me too! And unfortunately, I can't cook worth anything, so I too have no recipes. And this year, we are going out of state and we are eating Christmas dinner with people I've never even met before. So, they won't know that I'm veggie plus gluten intolerant, most likely. I have NO idea what I'm gonna eat.

I'd check out your local library and find a fun recipe book. You could also do a google search of local vegetarian restaurants, call them, and see if they do carry out. Smile

You could sneak in a Tofurkey or two. Wink Ten bucks says they won't know the difference unless you tell them. hehehe Then bring along a few sides. You won't be "dissing" their cooking because you'll be "helping out" by bringing a few dishes. Wink

Vegan dad's blog is the place to me to find good recipes when I'm hungry. He really have good stuff there. I think that there is a lot of stuff what you can do to your own Christmas table.

I know this year will be different to me too because it's first year when I'm totally vegan and well it means that I need to do all the food what I'm going to eat in my parent's place by myself just to be sure that there really is no milk or eggs in them.

Your welcome. I really love that blog and the mac&cheese recipe what he have in there is one of the best ones. I really like it. Just warning if you do it and there are only two of you in the table or you are alone, cut the recipe to half because I can say that you get more than enough with that and it's really on its best immediately and just good in the next day.

I was doing my grocery shopping today and I think that I went to vegan heaven when I went to freezer ail. The shop had gotten all kind fake meat into their selections and I couldn't believe my eyes. and there were some kind festive package where they had some fake turkey slices and some kind sausages. I think that tomorrow when we go to shop Christmas food with my mom I'm going to ask that she buy that one to me to replace the meat on the table. rendeer

It's funny, I thought that this whole Christmas is going to be so hard and actually it has been great motivator to me. I have been little depressed and from some weird reason it makes me grave food with meat. Now when my mom has been so nice and taken care of it that there will be food in the table to me too I feel that I really need to keep up my choices and eat like vegan all the time, no relapses. But it's good thing. I know that in the end of the day I feel so much better when I eat this way. bounce

Meegs I found this earlier in this year when I was looking cooking books to myself; [Only admins are allowed to see this link] I think it can be useful to you if you don't have it yet and that place is really good place to order books. It has definitely lowest prices if you order new books.

I'm going to replace ham in my plate with speltburger when others have meat. I wanted to have fake turkey but then the grocery store where we went to buy our food didn't have any of those anymore I needed to figure out something else. I think we can create new "traditional" Christmas foods in our table without pressure that it has to replace something what we use to eat before we came veg*n.
