Re: Photo of Emily reading at Farm Sanctuary Event
Being a vegetarian myself who also avoids dairy products and eggs if possible, I think it is great that Emily is a vegan and promotes animals rights publicly. Just one of the dozens of reasons why I like her...

Welcome to the ABY, Loserette!!!!
Oh, I agree. I love that she's so passionate about what she believes in. And it's a good thing that she believes in, too.. the welfare of animals and humans as well (she's involved in women's rights/justice things for African Women)...
By the way, I just LOVE how she doesn't show up to these events wearing stilettos and a dress. She's wearing jeans, no makeup... she's just so gloriously normal. I love it. I love her. Can I take her home with me?
(but not like that! lol)

Thanks for the post! I concur with everyone, it's wonderful the work she does for so many causes. She is a true role model.

Re: Photo of Emily reading at Farm Sanctuary Event
I know "I'll have a gander," means "I'll have a look," so maybe "geezer" IS Aussie? I have no clue

Re: Photo of Emily reading at Farm Sanctuary Event
haha. yes i've heard the term gander...i have come to the following conclusion:
a gander is a goose. geezer sounds like geese...australians are lazy speakers and don't have to open their mouths as much when they say geezer, thus the origin of the word..

Must be. 'Geezer' means old man in the USA.
I've heard the phrase "I'll take a gander" here. "Take a geezer" is new to me.
Re: Photo of Emily reading at Farm Sanctuary Event
That must be it, i_heart.
Yup, geezer totally means old man here. Love the overlapping of languages, or rather slang.

I know there's one of her reading something about Abraham Lincoln's son and how he saved a turkey and the pardoning of turkeys but that wasn't this same event, that was something different... But maybe there's a newer one, I haven't been on youtube in a few days.
