Re: David:
It's also a wonder that he is brave enough as an actor that he's willing to allow himself to be dressed up in lingerie and have his posterior exposed to the world. I'm sure many of his fans are going to want to see the film just for a peek at his anatomy.

Reviewer scores an "A" on the truth-o-meter with that little fact and an "A+" on the yay scale for giving David a compliment.

okay, here's a little peek at his anatomy for everyone who's curious about the movie. Wink

i saw it, and it definitely is very weird. i do like weird movies, but this one wasn't all that well-done imo. interesting concept, but idk, kind of unrefined? feels very low budget. but for everyone who's a db fan and not too squeamish, it's okay.

and definitely kudos to db... i guess not a lot of guys would be confindent enough in their manliness to play a role like that! and he's doing a good job, too. even though for some reason i always find his acting on bones far better than in his movies.

here you go... Smile

Lena, Now I'm really scared to watch this movie! I've told myself I'm gonna watch it (I bought it off Amazon!), but I'm terribly conflicted about it and that pic you posted isn't helping any!!! No affraid

oh no, i'm sorry! if you've already bought it, of course you have to watch it!! (just close your eyes when the gay musician guy starts whipping db with his violin bow. hahaha. Wink)

no seriously, it's not that bad. it's not supergory or anything, just very weird.

Thanks for the heads up on when not to watch!! I don't know where it is - they said they sent it a week ago and it only had about a 3-hr drive from where it was posted???

I wish I knew what it is with David and his movies. I feel like we should start a campaign for him to get some good movie roles! They wouldn't even have to be big movies, just good ones! I wouldn't have a clue what to do though!!

Watched this tonight and can I say it was very painful. It was not a well done movie. Though most of DB's movies are a bit odd, at least I can watch them. This one was terrible. It hurt to finish it.

He should stick to TV. After "These Girls" I refuse to watch one of his movies and your review makes stick to that decision.

Must be my sense of humor, but I thought that was his best movie. Hard, edgy, kinda noir and dark. Not a lot of fluff like the rest of his movies. If you listen to the director, Allan Cumming, on the DVD, he worked with DB for 9 months before filming and gave him high marks. He said DB had an eye for the flair and that he was willing to put his all into his work.

Ghost Writer was hard for me to watch too because the plot was intense but i liked it in its own way. like katharine i think it has to do with my dark sense of humor. But personally my favorite movie with david is these girls! It doesnt get any funnier then that and that made it to sundance and I believe won an award. David always choosed roles that are complicated with different degrees of darkness in the character and though the movies themselves arnt blockbusters, he still shows his talent as an actor being able to play the roles he does. I also find Mr.Fix It to be entertaining but the ending bothers me.

Shocked Shocked Shocked
Those funny parts must have been hidden somewhere amongst a grown man/husband/father having sex with 3 teenage babysitters (he paid with money his wife made) while his baby daughter slept in the next room puke and his wife was out working to support his unemployed ass & poker games.

If you like Dark DB watch Angel episode - Soulless. Watching an Angel marathon this weekend and came upon that episode just a second ago.
Forgot how great he was in this episode as Angelus. He's dark, coniving, and even a little erotic. Call me wierd, but I like him like that. May not be Boothy, but still sexy none the less.

thats why it is funny because it is so gross. I laugh at him acting like a complete loser with his biker dude bandana and his total lack of morals. Im not saying the plot is desirable. That would be like saying that none of davids movies are even alittle bit humorous since all of the characters he plays are corrupt. ( i.e. satan in the crow, sex addict/moocher in ghost writer, complete dick to woman in mr.fix it, thief in the hard easy) But we still watch him in them and enjoy his acting. he plays his characters in humerous ways even though they are pretty much all scrupleless idiots.
