Booth's Belt Buckle

I was so when Bones handed Booth a replacement COCKY belt buckle. I thought it was GONE GONE GONE And what possessed Booth/David to wear it with a TUXEDO?

I love the cocky belt buckle. It's one of those things that defines Booth.

I'm sure Booth wore it with his cocky belt buckle b/c he was sounding quite cocky--"I'm sure you're looking beautiful." hahah

Then Brennan gave him one and I (even my sister almost cried) was so happy-- I've always wanted her to give him a buckle--now it has a story behind it. I'm glad it has a story behind it now!

I agree. Booth's gotta have his belt buckles and his crazy socks. As Gordon-Gordon said, they're his little 'rebellions'.

Yeah I was upset too when he sacrificed his belt buckle...good job Brennan for getting another one

I was upset when the buckle was blown up, but my life wouldn't have ended if it hadn't been replaced. But I do think it was a really subtly brilliant character move that Brennan sees something that she can do, something that he might need and does it. It was a really lovely character move.

Wow. That was perfectly put. It's a great character move. We've never seen Brennan give Booth anything. This is the first time that she's "claimed" him with a "gift" of some sort!

I think one of the reasons Booth wore the Cocky buckle with the tuxedo is because...well, he's Booth. He doesn't like particularly fancy parties or things, but his Bones was being honored so obviously he had to go. The buckle just made him feel a bit more at ease.

I was a bit sad to see him use Cocky on the ship, but the world wouldn't have ended if it wasn't replaced. But that's a good point though, about it being a good character move for Brennan. She's never really given him anything, and knowing how important the buckle was to him, she went and searched (which we're to assume was hard, because Booth said they were difficult to find)...I love that it's got that story behind it now too, like Jasper and Brainy Smurf.

AND she did it in less than 24 hours or close to it! I would love to know where she found the time to look for one. She was flying around in a helicopter, getting Booth to a hospital, picking him up from the hospital, sleeping, eating etc. I am assuming she was at hospital with Booth to learn about his belt buckle missing. But then she is a genius.

seriously my first thought when the belt buckle was blown up was "thank god, he's finally going to get a new one!!" i know i'm mean, but i couldn't help it. bones should have gotten him a different one.. something funny and flashy of course, but not the "cocky" one again. that's getting old. too bad.

I pressed no I mean yes. I think it was cute, Brennan doesn't believe in gifts of sorts, so for her to give the buckle to Booth was a large move. I think it shows how close she and Booth are becoming, and how much they rely on each other. And it was just plain cute!!

I love that buckle so I'm glad to see it back, however I'm with Lena! I want to see something different!

I was really sad when he blew the original up and however sad I was to see it go, I don't think it should have been replaced.
