What are the Genesis Awards?
The Genesis Awards, presented by the Hollywood office of The HSUS, pays tribute to the major news and entertainment media for producing outstanding works in television, film, print and the arts which raise public understanding of animal issues.
The nation's premiere consciousness-raiser, the Genesis Awards are presented annually at a star-studded ceremony drawing representatives from the media, entertainment, social, business and humane communities.
The awards are bestowed by a host of celebrity presenters, and the event is taped for broadcast to expose millions of viewers to animal wrongs—and animal rights.

That's fabulous! I loved Finger In The Nest for A LOT of reasons, and the animal issue was at the top. It was great to see them recognize the horrific nature of dogfighting. And Ripley...aw[Only admins are allowed to see this link] sad

I know. I saw it the other day again and the ending still makes me bleary-eyed. Poor Ripley. It wasn't his fault that his Master was a sick sadistic nutjob.

I know, seriously. He was *trained* and *signaled* to kill. He was a sweetheart with Brennan! Arg, still makes me sad. Especially 'cuz it really happens. What is wrong with some people? I really really hope Bones wins this!

Having worked with wildlife for years and at RSPCA shelters, it just makes me so upset and angry at how blatantly cruel people can be.

Good question. My guess would be Animal Planet, but they tape it ahead of time and then air it on a later date. The event will take place on March 28th, but I cannot find the info on when it will air. Anybody?
