Bones Fans Have Spoken! We get our Finale!

So, it looks like Booth and Brennan will get their bedroom time this spring after all. No doubt they have their vocal fans to thank for it.

As I reported last Thursday, because of President Obama's prime time address tomorrow night, "Bones" is in danger of losing a whole hour of its season to accommodate "American Idol"'s schedule. And as of late last week, FOX's tentative plan was to push "Bones"' season finale -- which includes the long awaited Booth and Brennan hook up -- to fall.

However, it seems the tentative plan has been tweaked.

Though FOX is not commenting on "Bones"' schedule, insiders tell me that a revised version of their spring lineup was released earlier today and though "Bones" will indeed lose an episode this season, the finale hour is no longer the one marked for postponement. Instead, they've axed ep 4.18 "Beaver in the Otter" (otherwise known on fan sites as ep 4.24, episode numbers are wonky this season due to several year 3 episodes being pushed last spring).

Perhaps the network peeped some of the fans' helpful suggestions and decided to take their feelings into account.

Of course all schedules are subject to change, but I will monitor the situation and keep you updated.

I kind of wish they would have taken The Girl In The Mask instead, but hey. I'm not gonna complain. Fox was basically harming themselves by even thinking of postponing the finale. Just...you don't do that. No. You can't postpone a finale. Great news.

I'm happy the finale is here, but Christina reminded me that in Beaver in the Otter, Jared & Booth have a conversation... a good one... so there's a good J/B storyline in that epi... which makes me mad.

Hopefully this isn't the episode with the baby conversation... jeeez, that would really f**k up Bones' storyline. We'd be totally lost and fans would freak that Brennan's decision was unfounded again blah blah blah.

hey, if we have to lose an epi, I would rather it be that one than the finale. There must not too much revealed in that epi, if we can do without it to have the finale. I read the sides, but cant remember anything standing out. I am just very happy now and hope FOX sticks to the plan and that the preisdent doesnt have another speach he needs to give.

Oh Jeez if the president makes another speech I swear I'll go apeshit.

Don't Hart and Co. get at least a little say in what gets pushed back? I mean, obviously they don't get final say but if the execs come around and say "Hey, we're pushing things back so we're gonna need to take an episode."...Can't they, you know...suggest which one they take? So apparently Baby Talk doesn't happen in Beaver, or we can hope not. I'm hoping they don't just have all the baby talk in the finale. That would be...rushed and a little odd.

But...this means we'll have discontinuity. Unless they tweak a few things. Nothing like being in the middle of the "Is she or isn't she?"/post-coital ness, and then they throw in an episode where they haven't even been together yet.

Well they haven't filmed everything yet. They have a lot of time to tweak and make everything fit. These people know what they're doing. They've been doing it for years. I'm not worried, and I think that everything will come together nicely.
Everyone needs to take a deep breath, and just be glad that we get the finale and Brennan and Booth doing the McNasty.

But i guess id rather lose an ep than not be able to see the finale in less than 2 months!

Yay for getting the finale! Boo for having an epi bumped. Seriously, as I have already said, why can't they preempt something else? Hell's Kitchen perhaps? Ugh, annoying! And while I believe in our President, I really don't understand why he keeps having all of these press conferences and on top of that, why all of the networks have to cover it. Leave it to the cable news networks, in my opinion.

Yeah... usually it's about a week and a half after the sides are released that they move onto the next epi. So, they do have time to tweak Otter to make it fit in a little nicer.

I am a little surprised that you all seem to be so cool w/ them axing an epi... I think it is outrageous. With everything they have done to the show's schedule so far have we all become just grateful to get anything at all? I mean, first they promise a start January 15th after the hiatus - that didn't happen. Then they promise 11 epis in a row - that ain't happening and now we don't seem to get the 26 epis they promised...? I mean, come on fellow Bones lovers we really should light our torches!!!

While I'm very happy about the finale in this season, I'm actually pretty angry that they'll cut one episode. Is it really THAT necessary? WHY to break the storyline? VERY odd decision. Couldn't FOX just air 2 episodes in one week? Or air the finale the next week in May?

I am glad we get the finale (tentatively). Still don't understand why they just couldn't air AI for 2 hrs on Wednesday.......since it is so popular. Or have it start after the President's address on Tuesday which just pushes everything out. That is what they do during football season and any other sports season. Is AI taped live? Better yet, move AI to Friday or Saturday and let the millions, millions of fans watch then.

But I really think that moving one of this seasons episodes into next season is a bit mad! Next season B&B will have slept together...that's gotta change the tone of their relationship, their dynamic?...That's gotta have ramifications (Brennan got all bent out of shape after she'd hugged Booth at the alter...what's she gonna be like after she's...um...let's go with hugged...hugged him naked in a bed?)
It'll be like...Season Five...B&B...After the event...Oh, and here's an eppy with Jared...yeah, things are a little different between B&B...It could be because at this point in time Booth really hadn't seen Brennan naked before!
