I think thats when it is for my school too. Or whenever you take Health 10. And some people don't take that until 12th grade because of their schedules

btw, I think sex ed is a must Smile what you choose to do with that knowledge (meaning, use it now or later on in your life) is your decision-- but as Squirt said, in today's society there should be no taboos concerning sex.
Well I think starting at a certain age, around puberty it's best to start talking to your kids about sex. I already talked to my little sister Maddie who is 9 about her period and that stuff... My mother won't do it... It was times like that I wish I had an older sister, I had to rely on my friends and older cousins...

you can talk about sex to children 3 years old--- the thing is HOW you explain it to them. You have to adapt the speech considering how ready they are to understand what you're gonna say. That means the description and the depth of the discussion on what sex involcves (and the healthy behavior related to it) will change depending on the listener's characteristics.

SO, everyone's old enough to know about sex!

My school is housed on a church. We don't have sex ed, so i had to rely on my normal school friends for all that stuff...

While I understand that the Church has it's rules, I think that in today's society that kind of thing can cause issues. Evey child should have sex ed. It's how we are going to help lower teen pregnancy, lower sti's and help prevent the spread of HIV and Aids.

Yep, I agree completely. I was reading a book and in the book the main character had this crush on her best friends brother and he went to this church (which sounds a lot like mine) and the pastor made 2 loaves of banana bread and one was perfect and fluffy and the other was flat and gross and he compared it to abstinence, he said the flat one had all the same ingredients but they were put together in the wrong order and he said that sex was the same way if you have sex before marriage it makes you gross and wrong. And I was like really? The sad thing is I wouldn't put it past my pastors to do something like that. It's comppletely stupid. I want to have a discussion with them.... maybe at graduation, when I'm not their problem anymore.
That sounds really familiar

what the book or the point of the part of the book i was referring to? The book is called the "Boyfriend list" it's really cute.

I see no point in telling a three year about sex when there's no need too. The only way I would see that is if you're pregnant and your kid asks you where babies come from, then yeah sure go for it. But you don't need to sit your 3 year old down and tell them about sex.

I think we all agree it's something that should be taught. I don't think the issue was whether you are old enough to learn about it, I think it was that some are uncomfortable with it.

Okay sorry...now I really am going. Goodnight.
