Not exactly. I'm in pediatric nursing-school. We have to do different internships and I had some at the newborn/maternity ward as well as the delivery room. One of my responsibilities at this ward is guidance. I explain infant handling, show new parents how to change the diaper, bath their newborns, generally how to take care of them.
Helping mothers with breast-feeding and how to encourage postpartum breast engorgement. So in some way it's like a LC. But since you have to do a further training to call yourself LC here, I'm not.

My LC was amazing. Very awesome lady, very encouraging. I loved the hospital I gave birth in.
