I gave this one a try, I really did. And I love NF. I do. He's funny and charming and even better looking in RL than on TV. But damn if the writing wasn't subpar. Maybe it was the ep I watched (Then one where his actress ex-wife, the fried twinkie, comes back to town) but I was very, very underwhelmed.

So was it the episode? Is there another one you recommend to get hooked?

Honestly, I can't judge a show by watching one episode, so I can't give you the episode to watch. The more I watch it, the more I love it. And that probably wasn't the best ep to introduce the characters with. I enjoyed it because I'd already seen how everyone interacted with each other and could enjoy the addition of someone I'd wondered about in the past.

My suggestion is to start at the beginning. Give the first two eps a shot, because I wasn't all that impressed with the pilot though to be honest I never am impressed with pilot eps.

I actually really enjoy the writing. I like the banter between Beckett and Castle and between Castle and his daughter.

I've really enjoyed watching this... I have found similarities between this and Bones, which bothers me, but I have enjoyed it none the less

Loving Castle, too! It's so fun. And I don't mind if there are any similarities between it and Bones--I rather like having two procedural dramadies that I can laugh and cry at, instead of one. But I think the writers are doing a good job of being creative. I love the relationship between Castle and his family. And he and Kate are really fun to watch on screen. I'm trying to see if it's going to get canceled (it's currently on the bubble, since its ratings are good but the demographic is low), but stupid Nielsen is having issues that are keeping any ratings from going out to the networks so they can make their big decisions by the 19th. I was prepared for a cancellation (all of my shows get canceled! Moonlight, anyone? *sniffle* ) so I tried not to get too attached. We'll see! Glad I'm not the only one watching

well I don't trust abc to recognize good shows. (pushing daisies) or cbs (moonlight/jericho) or fox (Dark Angel/Firefly/Drive) Let's face it... I pretty much don't trust any network to keep the shows I like watching. But I'm really hoping that Castle sticks around. And new shows are almost always on the Bubble, so I'm not surprised, especially when it's only going to run 10 eps.

Ohh... i am finding now I like Castle way better than Bones. IDK why. I still watch Bones a lot, but Castle has easyness in the show, that Bones quite lack. I don't know exactly what. Maybe I just love Nathan Fillion too much for that... LOL

Fully agree with that easyness comment but then I think thats because of fillion he's a comic genius playing a character that has comic genius. I always have 1 show I'm nuts over and one I'm watching getting deeper into Castle is definately that getting deeper into show didn't know about it untill 4 months ago which has helped endlessly over this bones hiatis, and we get a castle hit first to take the edge off the bones premier I like it!
