Here we are. BONES came second after Survivor. Usual stuff. At least we gained a few. TV Guide reports.

Ratings: Which of 11 Finales Delivered the Biggest Bang?

Thursday's ratings rundown:

8 pm/ET
Survivor topped the hour with an audience of 12 million total viewers, on par with last week. Bones' surreal season-ender scored 8.7 mil, up a tick. Ugly Betty dropped 9 percent to claim third with 6.83 mil.

While NBC's Earl (4.8 mil) wrapped up its season with a 370K gain, Parks & Recreation (4.25 mil) concluded its freshman run with another (8 percent) drop. Smallville saw 3.16 mil (down 180 thou) pull up a chair for the [cough] "epic" clash.

Good to hear that ratins went up on the season finale, I'm surprised they weren't up more actually given the previous weeks lead-in and the build up around the episode. Still since they haven't yet cut a deal for S5 yet any positive ratins news is good news.

Well, I'm not sure airing the finale in Canada the day before did a good to ratings. Nevertheless, yes Robert, let's be positive!.

Hmmm...

Most TV viewers don't hang out in online communities. I didn't even know there was such a thing before I found theABY. For folks like us the build up was frenetic, but for the regular viewer, they probably hardly even noticed it was the finale.

Well, there are thousands of websites dedicated to particular shows. I'm convinced all these sites mean pure promotion to the shows and influence ratings. But of course, we are not the majority, still. Who knows what's behind the numbers. I'm smelling conspiracy here. *suspicious look* lol

Oh, I'm impressed, Mary. You sounded just like Hodgins when you said that!

no way to know about the finale. canada's early online showing could have affected the numbers. but it's hard to know because online views of the videos put up can't be compared to anything.

So true. Since internet is becoming (or maybe has become?) a major source of accessibility, soon I'm sure clever people will find out how to add these figures into the picture. If DVR-ing (is that a word at all?) is counted why not the internet? We shall see.
