Booth might very well settle for that, but that wouldn't be his ideal scene.

Booth is a believer: God, family and country. And he has a very strong sense of right and wrong. He might not think living with the woman he loves in a committed relationship is wrong, but he would believe that being married to her is right!

Especially if they have a baby together, he will want to do right by the baby and marry her, even though thats what he wants all along.
