Totally Random ...

I'm getting to where I think my day through in terms of what I'll post ... I don't know if that's sad or not. Anyway, some stuff just doesn't belong anywhere else, so I thought this might work nicely ...

Totally Random ...

It finally feels like it's summer!

Today while on our road trip to the airport ... while on the backroads we came upon a hawk. We got pretty close before he took off, but he hung low for quite a while, and his wingspan I bet was 6 feet. We were all jazzed, but my niece who has lived her whole life in the big city was crazed!

Then the fields... The winter wheat was tall and dry and ready. Some fields had already been baled - huge (maybe 7' or 8') round bales (when I first saw these it felt like the fields had been harvested by aliens!) The corn is already a couple feet high, and the pastures were all full of cows.

All in all, a beautiful day for a road trip!

The fireflies are stunning this evening.

I just heard a crack of thunder ... the storm is coming!

I was out driving the two-lane the other day. I looked out and there was a little boy playing in his driveway. Not too little, 8 or 9. He was on his wheels going round about, just out playing on a beautiful day. At the exact same time both my heart sank and a smile broke on my face. His wheels ... a motorized wheelchair.

Okay, that was both amazingly touching and just a tad too maudlin at the same time. You want random? I got your random, one of my best friends just called, haven't talked to him in about three years. We had a six minute phone call, five minutes of which was us making plans to spend a weekend down at the lake sometime after the fourth. Three years and it took us like 60 seconds to totally reconnect. That's a good friend.

Hehehe! Exactly. God I love dogs, I really do, but even the smart ones are just goldfish with slightly longer memories.

hey now!! My dog's pretty smart!! Sometimes I think she's smarter than I am, I mean she remembers some things a lot longer than I.............what were we talking about again? ....I sort of forgot.........SQUIRREL!!!

SQUIRREL?! Where's the SQUIRREL?!?! I hate SQUIRRELS!!! Ooh, look, something shiny... Yeah, like I said they're so easily distracted.
