Emily in My Sister's Keeper

Post by CanadianBones on Tue Jun 09, 2009 4:55 am

I read it in some interview and then had to double check on imdb.com....she plays a doctor, I'm guessing it's a small role.

I am in the process- a very very slow process- of reading the book and I'll see how much Dr. Farquad is in the book, I assume that would determine how much she'll be in the movie.

She is a radiology technician, at least that's what I was told. Great book. I cried for days over it...we'll see how the movie goes Wink

It's bizarre that imdb just recently updated that. They filmed it around this time last year and I knew she was in it. I kept checking imdb and I was tempted to e-mail them to let THEM know she is in it. I got a BUNCH of casting notices for the film, but none of them fit me personally Sad

I am in the-slow- process of reading the book and so far I've only seen her character in like a small part. I know I'm going to cry. My mom insists, I won't... psht

I recommend reading the book first. I say that because the book (so far) is really good, and movies sometimes tend to ruin it, then you'll never read the book.

For example, I took my sister to see Twilight, and the movie sucked so much that I will not read the book though she insists the book is better. I've grown a deep deep hatred towards it... It could also be the insane amount of hype it got, considering the movie sucked.

I just reread the Dr. Farquad scenes and I can definitely see Emily in the role. Not sure I'll see it in theaters, though.

My friends and I are going on the day it comes out if I can manage to finish the book first.

I pictured Emily in the part, she's got all the Dr. lingo down.

I was at the theatre today and saw the poster for My Sister's Keeper in the section of coming attractions. I looked for Emily's name. It wasn't in the star section, it wasn't in the co-star section. I never did see it ... so it must not be a very big part.

I was kinda bummed.

No she doesn't play a main character. But i went on imdb.com and saw that the boy who plays the brother- Jesse- is played by the kid who played "David Cook" (Not the season 7 AI winner) in the 1st season episode "The Boy in The Bush" He was the older brother the younger brother was played by the kid who played "Dustin" in Zoey 101. But i thought that was funny, maybe they caught up on old times... Both looked at each other and went, "I know you." LOL

I read the book first, and honestly I'm glad I did it that way. Had I watched the movie first, I might've liked it but it would not have turned out like I expected.

It will definitely end up being a small part, but good to know that she's in it. I'll be bawling like a baby anyway.

yeah. Her part is small. So I don't think it's really worth paying the money to see the movie expecting to see Emily in a major part of the movie only to be disappointed to see her in only like two minutes of the movie.... But I look forward to this movie. I'm going to cry so hard! I'm going with my friend and she and I are going to hold each other and cry.
