I liked "A walk to remember" over the book. I'm on the fence with "Bridge to Terabithia" I liked both a lot. I heard they changed the ending for this one though.

Really? They changed the ending for "My Sister's Keeper"? Do we know that as a fact? 'Cuz I don't see how it will really work, the ending is the whole point! And that doesn't give anything away, RGP! Smile

yes, please don't give it away. But I don't know it for a fact, that popped up in conversation yesterday when my friend and I were at the movies and saw the preview for it. But maybe I can look into it?? I don't know.

Right now, in the book, I'm at the part where Anna was born. Very Happy It's good, but a slow read. Usually I crank out books faster than this. Maybe I'll read out by the pool today.

Well don't tell me how it ends, but I was saying what I heard. It might not be true. I'll sleuth around and see what I can find.

Well, as I drove past the theatre marquis this morning I saw that this movie was playing this weekend. Did anybody go see it? How was it?? No spoilers, just ... how was it?

It was okay, definitely not what I was expecting. Emily's part was very small, but she definitely fit the part well. They changed a few things storyline and time wise, and yes...they changed the ending. But I won't say how or anything like that, because I don't want to spoil anyone.

Thanks, Gardenia. I don't know anything of the story so I won't have to deal with any changes from the book. I hope it's good. I'm taking off a little early tomorrow to go hit the late matiness with my sister. I'll post back with the knowing-nothing-going-in perspective. I'm not sure that'll do anybody on here any good, most everyone here is a big reader!

I went to see this this afternoon. I thought it was very good! I didn't have to deal with having read the book first. I did notice while the opening credits were rolling that Caleb Deschanel was the Director of Photography, and I thought that was very well done. The music was especially wonderful.

It was a tear jerker though, so be sure and bring tissues with you!

And one more thing, Jason Patric was especially wonderful in this movie. I don't recall ever seeing him in anything before, but my sister and I were whispering about him a few times. I just went and googled him and didn't see anything especially wonderful in the pics, but in the movie - very, very nice! Maybe it was the part he played, but OMG!

DBC, i suggest you read the book, at least for the ending.... They took out a LOT of the book in the movie, and definitely changed the ending.

The guy who played Taylor Ambrose, is sexxxy with his hair. lol, and he's a vegan, I'm sure he had lots to talk about with Emily and Sofia Vassilieva is a vegetarian. Smile

Ella, I don't know if I was judging by what I'd heard here or not, but I did think that part of the ending was a little weak, but the rest of it was lovely. I wish I could say that I'll go get the book to read, but I'm not a big reader. Before FF I would probably only manage a book ever year or two.

I've tried to tell myself that I will start doing more, but who knows if I'll carry through. When I saw the previews of "A Time Traveler's Wife" though I did think to myself that I should try and get it to read before it comes out! Who knows, I may become a reader after all - in all my spare time!

I'll have to go google this Taylor Ambrose now, just to see, but I have to say that he wasn't bad bald either!

I don't read much either and if you look back at my past responses, i mentioned that it took me a long time to read the book, it's a big book, but it's really worth it, i promise. I have to say I found parts of it to drag on, but then the ending came and I was completely shocked. Not what I saw coming at all. Nothing like the movie.

I read that book a long time ago, It looked interesting so i may reread it, if I think to go to the bookstore one day.

And Google the actor, his name is Thomas Dekker. He's kind of got that Robert Pattinson look, but much hotter and definitely a better actor. But I hate Robert Pattinson and I despise Twilight, so i may be a bit bias.

Emily is in it for like 5 minutes, not even that... like less than 2 minutes. But she plays the doctor part so well.... I wonder where that came from....
