Re: Sides for season 5
It seems to me like that kiss is something that could happen, but I can't tell if it's something that's not so much fake as because Booth still thinks of them as married, or if it really is sort of like a moment of comfort.
What I don't want is if we do see it for it to never be brought up again. From the sounds of things, Booth has apparently realized his feelings for her but is kind of working to not let them become overly exposed until he knows she feels the same. But a devil card, seriously? I don't know...
It does seem odd that they'd let something like a kiss slip, but I do think it means something. I just don't feel like getting my hopes up too soon.

"But I'll never have to fly coach."
Security clearance? I thought Brennan's was pretty high--witness Woman/Car and the interview with Pickering.
"You're old, but..." You mean he didn't just up and shoot the little twerp? Excellent restraint. And the stuff with Sweets about age!
VNM and bad news? hmmm...
And little Mandy's comments about sleeping together. I swear, the whole world really can see it.
These do look interesting. Though I may be denser than usual, but I don't know if I see why you think the kiss might be real from these sides.
Thanks for posting, Mama!

Re: Sides for season 5
Security clearances age and require periodic review to maintain, reviews can be of variable length depending on the degree of clearance. We're lead to believe Brennan's is quite high (Top Secret) because of the Guzman incident, but in reality she could have standard Secret clearance and just have compartmental clearance for that specific case. It is possible to hold even lower than top secret (confidential) and be cleared at a higher level for your involvement in a specific project. That is a trick often used by project managers and IO's to secure qualified resources without the expense of hiring a fully cleared asset, which can be a budgetary nightmare, especially for time sensitive work.dawnsfire wrote:"But I'll never have to fly coach."![]()

Also the higher your clearance and/or the more projects you need to be cleared for, then the more expensive it is to get cleared and maintain your clearances. Not to mention the frequency of security reviews can vary by project and sensitivity which is not only intrusive but annoying. And then there's the Max issue. That would have thrown flags up all over the place. SO if the Guzman issue aged out (became no longer a TS level issue and was reduced to S or C) then it's possible the Jeffersonian decided not to pursue an extended review for Brennan. I can also see how Brennan would voluntarily seek a reduced clearance level to whatever is needed to work on government cases just to avoid the extended reviews.
Before anyone asks I will neither confirm nor deny any clearance level(s) I may or may not have. Any questions along that line will be ignored. I can only speak to the process as I have observed it, and and anything I write is probably wildly inaccurate and should be ignored. That's for the NSA, thanks boys.

That makes sense, Rob, and no, I won't ask how you know all that.
Brennan isn't taking too many overseas trips any more, which theoretically could lower her need for clearance as well, if I read you right. And we haven't heard any more about her ID'ing bodies for NSA or whichever agency that was back in S1--when she couldn't talk about it. Um, Woman/Airport?

First, thanks. I posted and then wondered if I should even post. It's not that I'm paranoid but you get used to protocol and while I'm sure I didn't technically violated any there's the whole 'spirit of the law' aspect to think about.
Re: Bones, SE 01, Ep10: The Woman at the Airport It was Homeland Security, and I was happy to see her follow protocol - usually academics suck at that sort of thing. Also, the opening sequence with Brennan, Booth, and Goodman was freakin' hilarious. Brennan argues quite convincingly that she can't go, Goodman agrees and argues with Booth that she can't go. You can tell the meeting has been going on for a while in that vein and when Goodman finally asks Booth "Why should I send her to California?" Booth just smiles that cocky smile and says, "Sexy case in Hollywood? How much more good press could the Jeffersonian get?" ten seconds later she's packing her bags. The look she gives Booth is priceless.
Also this is the second episode where she uses blackmail to get Booth to do her bidding.

Oh, new sides, new siiiiiiiiiiiiiiideeeeeeeeeeees! Love sides!!!
A bit confused about Brennan’s clearance… but what do I know about security?
To Booth: “You’re old…” hahahahaha
Sweets, after a ‘kid’ comment: “Me? I shave.”
Bad news? What bad news?!?! Please don’t fire Vincent!!!!!!!
“We’re not allowed to sleep with someone we’re working with.” – “Is she talking about us?”

Re: Sides for season 5
No, no, they got it right. I'm so frakking happy they got it right. His clearance should be higher than hers, thankyouverymuch. /petpeeve.
As RM pointed out, she could have been cleared for whoever the hell Guzman was but not given an actual "pass" so to speak. 'Cause that? Would make no sense. Booth has stated he spent his career at the bidding of the JCs which, uh, given that we haven't been given specs per se, could be made to fit... He's supposed to have like, sniper superpowers (lol) so, and he did bring up Guatemala (which still, to this day, squicks the S out of me). But anyway, he's certainly had a longer, more "intimate" relationship with "sensitive material", Srry2say.
I think I sense SN's fingerprints on this script. I think I'm gonna like it. YAY!

Yeah, if his reference to Guatemala was indicative of his activities as a contractor working for the DoD and State then Booth's clearance would be TS + several compartmentalized instances, way higher than Brennan's.
Booth: Small town America. Gotta love it.
Brennan: This is not a small town. Chontala, Guatemala, 150 people and no running water. That’s a small town.
Booth: I said small town America not small town Guatemala (stressing the word to pronounce it like a native), and I've been there too by the way.
...
Brennan: (Sarcastically) What took you to Guatemala? Ecotourism?
Booth: (Turning to glower at Brennan) I went down to shoot somebody through the heart from 1500 feet.
I love dark Booth. We need more dark Booth.

Yes, sir. You and I seem to be very much in agreement on this particular topic.
Still, (bolding mine) I can't believe they made it GUATEMALA. *shudders* Just...Jesus.

Re: Sides for season 5
DarkBooth, YES. Will be awesome.
If we actually do get to meet his father, isn't there a chance we could at least get a tiny glimpse of that awesomely angsty Angst!Booth? Or a lot? And they brought up his gambling issues more frequently in s4, not that I wanna see Boothy fall off the wagon or anything, but still. Makes me suspicious.
I still say the kiss is real, but I don't know if it will end up being anything monumental. At first anyway. It's sort of a comfort type of moment, and maybe a little bit more on his part. Still...*sighs*...We'll take what we can get.

Agreed! Dark Booth is a wonder to behold! When he turned and asked Bones if she thought he was a loser! I about fell off my chair!! *thud*MoonlightGardenias wrote:DarkBooth, YES. Will be awesome.

And I think that kiss sounds perfect ... natural even, just caught up in the moment. That's what they need, is just some time without all the sensors running full tilt!

Re: Sides for season 5
That's true, I think, and that's what I really hope they keep it. It doesn't have to mean anything specifically, but it natural like you said. Like they could be doing it everyday for the rest of their lives. Except maybe they'll both be all whole and healed next time.
Haha...so, um...can anyone think of how they might try disguising Em's broken toe? I mean, she has that boot thing on (and I'm sorry...but The Bond in the Boot...nevermind, that was a really corny comparison.
)....but anyways, I'll be interested in seeing how they handle that.

Nope, there are many places to get them. My favorite sides' site is [Only admins are allowed to see this link] - or, when they don't have the new ones yet, any other LJ site where are posted NORMAL pdf files and not something 'flash player-ish', 206_bones, for example.DBCrazy wrote:...Is SpoilerTV the only place these are?
