Season 5 wishlist...

Before the spoilers start really flying around, which might influence this list, I was wondering what you would have on your S5 wishlist?!

For me -
- a real BB kiss. A big old real romantic smooch.
- slow dancing for BB
- another character blatantly saying 'YOU LOVE HIM/HER', rather than just Cam or Angela rolling their eyes at the crazy antics. Laughing

- Booth's Grandad
- More Parker
- More Caroline
- sweet moments between BB throughout the episodes rather than just at the end.

p.s. If there's already a thread like this, please point me in the right direction and feel free to delete this one!! x

I love your list LJ, I'd just add a few things:

I want a kiss that Booth initiates and Brennan finishes. So far Brennan has done all the kissing, it's time Boothie boy cowboy up and act like he's got a pair.

I'll go you one better. I actually want a third party romantic interest for Booth to appear, fight for his affections, stick around for a few episodes and then give up after a huge fight where she tells Booth "I refuse to be the other woman just because you're too much of a chickenshit to admit you're in love with her!" and then run into Brennan and basically admit she left Booth because she was tired of competing for his affections. THAT would be a scene to see.

- Booth's Grandad

I want both Booth's dad and grandad. I'd love to see him stand up to his old man (assuming he's alive and still an alcoholic) and I'd love to see Brennan and his gradnad interact. Maybe have him tell her how much Booth loves her and how important she is in his life.

I love all of your plot ideas. I'm not sure I could take the third party - bad for my heart and all, but I like your ending.

Mine would probably be:

-More Parker.
-Moore Hodgins/Angela development, no more Angela bouncing b/w different people.
-More Angela and Booth moments!!
-I would just generally enjoy more Cam, anyway they can give it to me. I love her character!!
-Sweets/Angela scenes & maybe Sweets/Hodgins scenes because there funny.
-Pick an intern...dear god.
-More of Booth's family!!

I would like a little more backstory, period. Angela's birthname, Brennan's aunts, Booth's family (that's actually #1), something about Hodgins... Doesn't have to be major.

Definitely more Parker! Do we want Rebecca, too?

And yes, settle on an intern. Please! I think they will, though. Esp since Brennan was trying to decide on one during Girl/Mask

And oh, yeah--how about trying to clear up a couple of the contradictions from past seasons? Booth comes to mind, as ever--college boy, but he was in the 1st Gulf War? How is that possible, given his age? He's only 37! (he's 5 yrs older than Brennan, making him born in 1971; Con Man took place in Nov...I set his b-day in Nov 1971) Or, if you prefer, Brennan's grandfather and foster care?

That one's probably even more of a dream than the kisses... Rolling Eyes

I agree with all of these and hold out hopes for all of these. Backstory isn't something HH is afraid of doing, moving the B&B relationship forward seems to terrify him.

Absolutely! Can she die of something messy too?! I so want her boney ass gone, and added plus a nice, slow, messy death will push Booth and Brennan together (think about it, her being there for him, her comforting Parker, booth seeing her comforting Parker) - I'm a stone cold shipper, I'll kill off cast members to get these two together. Anything less that total commitment and you're a hobbyist IMO.

Agree, hire Wendell already and move on. C'mon, we know she's hiring Wendell because he's Booth's favorite and that's what she does, sublimate her attraction to him and express it by doing the things she thinks will make him happy.

He'd have been 20 in '91, recall his shoulder crapped out his freshman year (Player Under Pressure) so he was out of college by his sophmore year (no scholarship) which would be, 1990(?) and he joined the Army - plenty of time to make it into the war. The broken feet, general torture and injuries he sustained are said to have been sustained in the middle east, not specifically during the war. Ranger school, sniper school, that'll take a year out of his life or more. We were active in that region above and below both no-fly zones for several years. I'd assume he was taken prisoner and tortured during one of those missions, not the war. Also he served during the Bosnian conflict specifically as a ranger and a sniper. You're right, they need to clear this up, but it's all possible within the timeline given.

That one's probably even more of a dream than the kisses...

Amen to that, don't get me started on the lack of consistency in this show over the last two seasons.

What the heck, an arranged marriage? Would someone mind telling me about these things? I mean, toss the king a frickin' bone every now and then people. Oy. Ah well, welcome Oh Queen!

At least we haven't seen her since S2...actually I think that's the only time we've seen her. Booth mentions her, but that's about it.

OK, thanks for the refresher on Player--not a favorite epi, so I don't rewatch it very often.

Updated timeline: Booth graduates HS in 90 (late 71 b-day=class of '90 in most states); completes 1st yr of college and joins Army in mid- to late 91. Have to double check my old emails; I had this discussion with blc about the Gulf War part once. Completes Bachelor's while in service & joins FBI in 96 (Crank/Shaft). Five year tour sound about right? I may be a military brat, but it was Navy and my dad was career, so beats me about length of said tours/hitches/whatever. Not to mention, is this a reasonable amount of time for him to become (Master) Sergeant?

Five years, maybe more like five plus part of a sixth year, though honestly given his physical status he could easily have gotten a medical any time after his second tour as a POW. Overall I think it's reasonable given the duty he pulled. I believe Labsquint did a story where they addressed this and determined that normal service requirements would take eight years minimum so they just made Booth three years older and had him lying to Brennan about his age because of her comment about "Male Menopause". Thing is Booth's service is far from normal, it's the service record of a hardcore lifer, which I think he was until he lost Parker and then went on that last mission. By my reconing we're looking at a man with multipe purple hearts, at least two POW medals, service in Iraq, Kuwait, and Bosnia, he probably spent 70% of his career pulling duty in forward areas - being special forces (Ranger, Sniper) with 48 kills to his credit? That would have made him one of the top 5 active snipers in the US Armed forces during that time. There's an old saying, time in the chow line and time on the front line, it all counts on twenty. Well that saying doesn't apply to advancement in rank. The more time in theater the faster your rate of advancement so Booth easily could have made Mst Sgt in five and a half years with his record.

Oliver was from S1 & 2; he shifted his focus from Cleo Eller to Brennan in the Pilot, and we haven't seen him since Bodies/Book. Noel stalked the victim in Secret/Soil, and they talked to him once more in S4--Man/Outhouse? Booth asked him to get info on a suspect.

I prefer Wendell myself. Problem with VNM is that he has a hard time snapping to when speed is required; isn't that why he's always spouting off irrelevancies? Otherwise, he does have an interesting personality.
