So anyway, reeeeeeling this one back in, in a valiant effor to get back on topic (what can I say? I love lost causes.) I think our wish list - at least from the shipper perspective is covered. Other than our favorite pair making some real progress and getting together what else do we want to see?

Me, personally, I'd love to see some Booth/Sweets and Booth/Hodgins bonding. I think Booth needs some male friends. He needs guys who understand him, and like it or not, those two get him, more or less. What do y'all think?

Which is why I like Wendell for Zach's replacement. VNM would be great from Brennan's perspective but he'd drive Booth nuts and I can't see them ever really bonding, but Wendell and Booth already have a connection. So I can totally see that working out.

Back on topic... I agree that Wendell would be a better match, since he has one foot in each camp, so to speak. He's smart, a squint, but he's also a guy, plays hockey, social. And I think Booth & Hodgins have already bonded, we just don't see it. Though in the current circumstances, it would be a case of re-bonding. Forget Sweets. It would take a hell of lot to make Booth truly bond with him.

See that's why I think Wendell is the natural pick for Brennan's intern. That plus I think she's bonded with him more than anyone other than VNM (who she respects for his intelligence). I keep going back to FitI, she is more openly friendly toward Wendell than any other intern and I think he's the only one she's never yelled at.

The thing about Booth and Sweets, I agree it'll be a mountain coming to mohammed moment when they bond but I can see it happening in one of those situations where the two of them are kidnapped or somehow forced to rely on one another to escape some murderous psycho's clutches. I mean assuming Booth doesn't snap Sweets' neck first. So 50/50 odds.
