Sany, have you got all your tax sorted? Here, if you get a paycheck when you start at a new place and your tax isn't sorted (ie the tax office doesn't know about your job, or your new salary) you get what's called emergency taxed, which is a ridiculous 45% or something! It gets nearly everyone in their first paycheck. And if the tax office screws up, it can go on. But you do eventually get it back. eventually.

not like that here. at least not to that great an extent. there will be taxes taken out but it shouldn't be that much.
