OMG! Brennan better be able to explain this one.....thats so sad...poor Booth...i want them to be happy...but i love your cliffies sooo much! lol

Here it is. It's short, I know, but the next chapter I am going to have to put a mature rating on I believe. If anyone could tell me procedure on that I would be grateful. I just didn't want to post anything before I knew how it works.

Brennan continued to speak, her eyes focused on anything but Booth, completely missing his heartbroken expression. “It was easier then, when I didn’t have to feel like this.”

“Is that what you really want?” he managed to ask one last time, giving her the chance to change her mind, to choose HIM.

“Yes, it is. But…” she took a deep breath, “I could never give up the way I feel about you.”

Booth immediately perked up, tilting his head as if he had misunderstood what she had just said.

Panicked by her own statement, Brennan began to pace frantically, not waiting for any response from Booth. “My brain and my heart are telling me two different things. My brain says to ignore how empty I feel when you aren’t near me, how jealous I feel when you give your charm smile to any other woman but me, how wonderfully taken care of I feel when you call me before bed or how much longing I feel when you use your “guy hug” excuses.”

“Bones,” he reached out and grabbed her wrist, stopping her ramblings, turning her to face him.

His own eyes fought to stay dry staring into hers. They both mirrored each other’s fear.

“What about your heart Temperance?” He stepped closer, bringing his voice to a whisper. “What does your heart want?”

Shakily she turned his hand over in hers and without speaking pulled the collar of her shirt aside, placing it on bare skin over her heart. Booth could feel its rapid beating, the warmth underneath his palm where her chest rose and fell deeply.

“My heart...” he reached up as she spoke with his free hand and wiped a stray tear from her cheek, “My heart wants you Booth. It’s yours to have. I’m yours to have.”

One idea as far as the M rated chapter is to post it in a seperate thread. Body Under Guard M Rated Chapter. And maybe post a milder version of it with the rest of the story here. I've seen things like that done elsewhere. As soon as I finish up my continuing stories I'm going to tone down a few of the M rated things I wrote at ff.net and post them elsewhere and maybe tone up the PG 13 rated ones and post them there if that makes sense.

I love this story by the way.

So, I live in Florida, in the Gulf Coast area right on the coast. The power has flickered off a few times now because of the tropical storm. So I am going to wait until the storm passes to post the next chapter. I am using the internet on my blackberry to do this. Will post the next chapter possibly tomorrow night, most likely, Wednesday night. Sorry for the hold up.

As for the change in rating, you can handle that pretty much any way you'd like here. If you want to put it in the topic title just do an edit on the first post in the thread. You can make it "The Body Under Guard (Rating Changed to M)" or something like that. Or if it's just a single chapter and you want to write it both ways then you could make a posting of each rating and let folks decide which one they'll read.
