Her coughing had gotten worse since she had woken up this morning. She checked her temperature for the third time as she got into her car. 99.7 the thermometer beeped at her as the screen cleared. She sat back against the cushion of the seat and squeezed her eyes closed. He bright sun light was hurting her eyes. Her head pounded in her head making her eyes feel as if they were going to bug out of her head. Maybe she shouldn't go to work today. Maybe she should just lay in bed with lots of juice and maybe some of those little cookies Booth keeps leaving at her apartment.
She wanted to rest but knew she needed to work. There were many remains that she needed to identify, and since they had been working cases so much she hadn't had time for the limbo room. Although she hated that name, but that's what everyone was calling it. Brennan rested her head on her steering wheel. She wanted to climb into bed and sleep until the next century, but she needed to identify the remains. Finish some reports and then go home and straight to bed. That was a promise she was making to herself that she was not going to break.
Brennan stuck her key into the ignition and turned the key bringing the car to life. This was going to be a very long morning.
“Dr. Brennan I was. . . “ Cam walked into Brennan's office holding the reports that needed her signature. She looked around at the platform which was empty then turned back to Brennan's office. “She was here ten minutes to go.” she said to herself.
“I'm over. . .” cough cough “here.” she said from the couch. Her face buried between two pillows as she lay on her stomach. More coughing erupted from her shaking her weak frame. She honestly couldn't remember the last time she wanted someone to shot her.
“Dr. Brennan, are you okay?” Cam came in tossing the files on her desk. She knelt down beside the couch reaching out a hand placing it on Brennan's forehead. “Your burning up!” she exclaimed as she stood.
“Cam,” cough cough “although I believe one could “burn up” I believe they would. . .”
“Dr. Brennan.” Cam interrupted.
“You were speaking figuratively.” Her voice was muffled as she spoke through the pillows. Sitting up she looked at Cam through watery eyes. “I'm not crying before you ask.” she began. “My eyes just won't stop burning, and I can't breath through my nose,”
“Why don't you go home Dr. Brennan.”
Brennan waved her off. “I have work, Cam I have remains that need to be signed off on. I have reports to write up.”
“Go home,” repeated Cam.
Booth sat in his office, his eyes following the small blue ball he was tossing up into the air. He turned his chair away from his desk ignoring the paper work on his desk. He wasn't feeling up to doing that right now. He wanted something to do, just not that. He tossed the ball up again and caught it as it came back down. Tossed it up once more then his cell phone rang.
He glanced at the front display and flipped it open. “Hey Bones, whats up?”
“Uh Booth,” her nose was so stuffy and it itched like hell. “I need a favor,” He sat up in his chair. Putting the ball in his top drawer.
“Are you sick? You sound funny.”
Sighing heavily into the phone she sniffed hard. “Yes Booth, listen I would ask Angela to do it I know she would be she went to lunch with Hodgins I just need a ride home. I really don't feel like driving myself. I would it's just. . . .I feel like I'm gonna throw up and I don't want to drive and then stop just to do that, you have a siren and . . . .”
“Bones, you know I can't use that for you tossing your cookies. I thought you said you never throw up.”
Brennan grunted. “I don't, I just need you to come get me so I can go home. Also for the record I don't have cookies to toss. Are you going to come get me or not cause I can take a cab.”
Booth grinned. “I'm on my way Bones. Just sit tight.” he flipped the phone shut. If she threw up he was not ever going to let her forget it.

Not much, if you ask me! Well, preferably accompanied by good health...What else could a girl ask for?
Nice work with her thought processes on why she decided to go to work. (Mine are usually a lot simpler, as in: if I don't go, I don't get paid.) Anyway, good timing too, since there seems to be about 3 or 4 bugs going around; someone on the team had to catch one of them eventually.
And if she does throw up, she needs to point out as firmly as possible that vomiting from illness is quite different from throwing up at a crime scene.

She met him in the parking garage, her bag slug over her shoulder and her hair draped to one side as she rubbed an oncoming ache in her neck.
“Wow Bones, you really do look bad.” said Booth once she opened the door. She tossed her bag into the back seat and climbed in without a word. “Is your neck sore?”
“My entire body feels sore Booth, can you just take me home fast so I can climb back into my bed.”
“Sure can,” Booth backed out of parking space, he steered the SUV through garage towards the exit. “You want to get some soup somewhere?”
She shook her head, she just wanted to get some sleep and get warm. Getting hot and then cold again was irritating. Her head was pounding, her eyes were watering, her throat was scratchy and her body ached. She couldn't remember ever being so sick.
Booth watched her curled into a ball on the passenger side seat. Her head pressed against the window, she was snoring softly. Every once in awhile she would cough and shift in her seat. Booth reached over a couple of times when they were stopped at red lights to pull her hair back away from her face.
Even sick she was beautiful, a car behind him blew its horn causing Booth to jump. He pressed the gas easing into a turn. He watched her hoping that idiots horn didn't wake Bones. “No,” she said with a sleeping tone. Groggy and heavy with sleep. “no, I can't do that.” he looked over at her and she was smiling softly. “no Russ. . .what if.” then she stopped.
She talked in her sleep? Wow chalk that one up to something he didn't know about. “ooo,” she said turning slightly towards Booth. “dad's gonna be mad.” then silence again.
She sounded like a child, apparently scheming with Russ to do something that was going to get them in trouble. Booth suppressed a laugh she looked so peaceful.
When he brought the SUV to a stop in her parking lot she didn't stir. Still slumped in her seat her head was rested against the window again. Booth reached over and shook her shoulder gently. “Wake up Bones.” he said rocking her shoulder.
She groaned loudly. “Stop,” she whined softly. Then returned to her snoring.
Booth shook her shoulder again. “Bones, your home. Wake up.” Booth rubbed his hand down his face when she didn't answer. She was out like a light. Booth pushed his door open and got out. She was going to kill him for this but he was afraid if he tried to wake her again she was going to deck him.
He reached around the back of his seat and grabbed her bag. He felt uncomfortable searching through her bag but it would he hard enough trying to get her keys while holding her. Holding her, that brought a smile to his lips.
How mad could she get? Unless she wanted to sleep in the truck. He shut his door and walked around the front of his truck. He just had to its not like he minded.
He eased her door open reaching a hand out to catch her head as it fell to the side. She still didn't wake. Booth reached across her to undo her seat belt. Her hair tickled his cheek and nose, she smelled like vanilla and. . . sugar. He couldn't help but wonder if she tasted the same way.
She came easily into his arms, Booth hooked an arm beneath her legs. He took her arms and tossed them around his shoulders. His other arm went to her back. Easing away from the door he kicked it shut with his foot.
How delicious could one woman smell? All the scents floating up to his nose was killing him. Brennan still breathed softly against his chest. If she only knew what she was doing to him.
Her eyes opened slightly and she looked at him. “Booth your carrying me.” This more of a statement than a question.
“I tried to wake you up.” he replied. “Do you want me to put you down?” They were entering the building now.
“No, I'm just really tired. Thank you.” Her eyes closed again.
“Your welcome.” he replied. A smile plastered to his face. Who knew when sick Bones was very accepting to letting someone else take care of her.

Thanks, I try. lol, I was thinking about how she would be if she were sick and since I apprently would rather write than sleep, I put this down. That was always my thoughts when I would get sick. . . .if I don't go I can't pay rent. So I went. And I will be sure to remember the vomiting if she does do it, I haven't gotten through the third chapter just yet.

He managed to get into her apartment fairly easy while holding her. She had fallen asleep again and he made a mental note that as soon as he got her in he was going to check her temperature. Just holding her against him made him hot. In more than one way. Booth laid her on the couch and then knelt down beside her. She breathed in and out through her mouth because of her stopped up nose.
It was red around the nostrils and her cheeks looked slightly pale. “Bones,” he said softly. Brushing the hair off her cheek he said her name again. “Bones?
She stirred pulling her hand up underneath her chin. “hmmm what?”
“Where is your thermometer I need to check you temperature.” she grunted and turned over facing the cushions of the couch. “Bones?”
“If I tell you will you let me sleep?” her voice sounded pleading.
He grinned as he continued to stroke her cheek. “Yes, I will let you sleep.”
“Its in my car,” she said.
Booth straightened confused. “Your car? Your car is at the Jeffersonian.”
“I know,” she replied. “but that's where it is.” Booth stood and grabbed up his keys. He was just going to have to get her one.
Since he was going to be out anyway he checked her refrigerator to see what she had and what he needed to pick up. Looking over the contents he made mental notes of basically everything. There was nothing as in comfort food. Almost everything contained soy or looked like she picked it out of someones yard.
“Bones?” he said as he headed to the door.
“I thought you said I could sleep Booth.” he twirled his keys around his finger and smiled.
“Sorry, I'm going to go get some things I'll be back.” she grunted as an answer.
She listened for the door to close. . . . waited for the click of the lock because she knew he would lock her in. She would give it a few minutes as she inhaled sharply. Standing was going to take sometime and she didn't want to risk him walking in on her.
Her head began to pound as soon as she stood up, the room tilted and she had to grasp the arm of the couch just to keep herself up right. She shrugged out of her jacket letting it fall to the floor. She had to squeeze her eyes shut to level out her vision. Just walk on the one in the middle, she said to herself then giggled a little.
So Angela's advice worked both ways. The last time they got drunk at the Founding Fathers that was how she got from point a to point b. Meaning from the bar to the bathroom. Just walk on the one in the middle, but this was a lot different than being drunk.
Brennan took a step and practically fell, she let herself drop to the floor. Deciding to crawl instead or she was going to have a big mess to clean up.
Brennan found that once she got started she could get herself there a lot quicker. A triumphant smile spread across her lips as she leaned over the toilet and let whatever else was in the bottom of her stomach come out.
She was so tired, her head still pounded rocking her brain. Pressing two fingers to her temple she rested her back against the tub. Did she have the energy to crawl back to the couch? She tried to push herself up but failed miserably. Brennan laid down and pressing her face against the cool tile. It felt good against her hot skin. She could sleep a little before Booth came back. Just for some comfort.
Booth looked up into the graying sky, he tried to beat the rain but it wasn't happening. He didn't remember rain being in the forecast. Why even listen to the weather report when they weren't even right half the time.
He watched as the first few drops began to fall, he quickly pushed his door open. Grabbing the bag up and running towards the building. Within a matter of seconds the rain had picked up and he was soaked from head to toe. He had pulled his jacket over the bags so the items wouldn't get wet.
Booth shivered in the elevator as the chill set in, he couldn't remember if those clothes he left at her apartment were still there. If not he was going to have to sit in front of the stove to let his clothes dry or strip down to his boxers and throw them into her dryer. A smile spread over his features as the picture ran through his mind. How would it look Bones laying on the couch sleep while he sat in the floor watching sports center. It was a cozy picture.
The elevator pinged snapping him out of his thoughts. He whistled to himself as he approached her door. He pulled his key out of his pocket and opened the door.
“Hey Bones I'm. . . .” she tossed the keys onto a counter. “Bones, where are you?” he called out dropping the bag into a near by chair. “Bones. . .”
He walked through the apartment and headed down the hall, the bathroom door was cracked open. “Bones. You in here?” A soft snore was his answer.
He pushed the door open as far as he could as it hit her foot. Booth stepped in and found her curled in an awkward position. Her hands folded under her head as she slept. Booth knelt down and scooped her up into his arms.
“Booth,” she said against his chest. “your all wet.”
“Its raining outside, hard. I got you some soup you wanna eat some?” Brennan nodded her head still sleepy. “Thanks Booth, your a good friend.”
He shivered again but not from the chill of the rain, it was just from holding her close. All the thoughts just holding her close brought to mind.

I don't think I can," she mumbled staring at the bowl.
"Sure you can just pick up the spoon lift and put it in your mouth." Brennan frowned continued to stare at the bowl.
"I don't want to eat Booth, I'm really not that hungry. I just wanna lay here and if possible sleep until this entire thing is over."
They sat on her sofa watching whatever came on television. It had taken Booth nearly twenty minutes to locate the remote control. When he found it, it had collected dust. As well as the television. "You really don't watch this thing do you?" he asked while he dusted it off against his sweat pants.
"No, I don't see the need. I'm never here anyway." she replied.
Now that they were settled with a bowl of soup for her and a large pizza for him on the coffee table. "You aren't going to eat all that are you?"
Booth took another slice and shoved half into his mouth, Brennan swallowed turning away as grease began to trail down his chin."Oh that's gross," she said swallowing.
"What? You like pizza," he said around a mouth full. "eat your soup. The broth will settle your stomach."
"No it won't Booth." she said pushing the bowl away from her. "I'm not hungry haven't been for a few days now. Actually this is the first time I've actually felt like sitting up."
He reached over and felt her forehead. "Your still pretty hot." he said dropping his pizza back to the card board box. "I'm gonna get your medicine. Its time for you to take some."
"Booth I'm sick of taking that stuff, it taste nothing like cherries." Booth stood. Gosh she was worse than Parker when it came to medicine.
"You have to Bones, you still have a fever." He walked into the kitchen to get the bottle of medicine. "Your going to have to take it until your fever breaks."
She watched him walk into the kitchen. Watched the way his boxers hung kind of low on his hips. He was a beautifully built man, she felt her pulse quicken. What would he do if she walked over there and put her arms around his waist? Holding him from behind raising up on tip toe to place feather soft kisses on the base of her neck? What would he do if she simply ran her hands up his back running her fingers over the muscles in his back. Kissing her way from the waist up his spinal cord across each shoulder blade and then to the base of his neck? What would he do if. . . .
"I've got to stop," she said softly but not soft enough.
"You've got to stop what?" Booth was sitting down again. When had he came back? It had to be this fever.
"Nothing," she lied. "just thinking I've got to stop thinking about . . . .about drinking that disgusting stuff and just do it."
Booth grinned at her. "I'm sure that's not it but okay Bones," he twisted the cap off the bottle and poured the correct dosage into the small cup that came with it. Brennan turned her nose up at it and frowned. "Now here," he handed her the small cup and waited for her to down it.
"You are going to drink it Bones, you have to."
She knocked it back like she was taking a shot of the worst liquir she had ever tasted. "That is so nasty." she said whiping her lips. "I'm going to write them and tell them that that stuff," she pointed to the bottle on the coffee table. "does not taste anything close to cherries."
Booth checked his watch. "You gotta leave or something?" she asked.
"Not if you don't want me to," he replied.
"If you need to go Booth, you can I think I'm going to go get in bed. Hopefully I will feel a little up to par tomorrow and go to work." She pushed herself up and began to stand.
"No," he said with a hand on her wrist. He gently pulled her back down. "I plan on staying I'm just marking the time because if you fall asleep again then I'm going to have to wake you up for your next dose. I have suit in my truck I went by my place while I was out. I'll just run down and get it later."
"ok," she said. Thankful he was staying she never liked being alone when she was sick.
"Now," he said taking her bowl "eat," she took the bowl and looked at it. "If you don't I'll be forced to feed it to you."
"You might enjoy that," she said taking the bowl from him and picking up the spoon. "I'm kidding Booth," she added when she noticed his shocked expression.

Brennan yawned big then used the crook of her elbow to cover her coughing. Booth sat slouched on the other end of couch. His head propped up on his hand as he sat leaned back into the cushion of the couch. His legs were stretched out in front of him. She smiled at him, at least he made it through half of the documentary. She knew he didn't want to watch it but he insisted since she let him watch sports center which she hated more than he hated watching the documentary.
She nudged him in the thigh with her foot. “Booth,” she said softly. He only grunted and adjusted more in the sofa. “Booth, wake up.”
“Hmm, Parker just. . .” she pushed harder and was amazed at how toned his thigh was. Those thoughts she had earlier quickly resurfaced.
“Not Parker Booth. Bones,” his eyes opened slowly he turned to her quickly remembering where he was. “Oh,” he stretched smiling. “hey Bones. Your movie over?”
“Its a documentary and no its not over I'm just ready to go to bed. I was waking you up so you could get the couch.” She pulled slid off the couch, her face felt hot and her throat still felt itchy.
Booth checked his watch “Its time for your medicine.” he pulled himself up yawning and stretching arching backward. Brennan couldn't help herself. He looked so good his shirt rose up exposing the ripples on his abdomen. His sweat pants inched down slightly and she could see the V that Angela said led to the promise land.
She didn't know if it was the fever or the fact that she had always been attracted to this man and just the thought of seeing him even half naked made her temperature rise. “Booth, can I have a juice chaser this time?”
He laughed as he got up and headed into the kitchen. “You can have whatever you want.” he replied. She stood and held onto the couch as she stood he looked extremely good from the back.
Her entire body felt hot, she shuffled more than walked as she entered the kitchen. Booth had poured a glass of orange juice and then filled the small cup with medicine. He turned towards her handing her the cup. Brennan knocked it back winced at the taste and immediately grabbed the juice. She drank it it loving the way the cool liquid course down her hot throat.
“I'm going to go lay down.” She said putting the glass back on the counter. The thought that he could come with her was on the tip of her tongue so she bit the tip. “Good night Booth,”
“Good night Bones,” he checked his watch as he said this. “See you in the next four hours.”
He laughed when she groaned could it be that bad? Booth stuck his finger in the small cup getting some of the liquid on the tip of his finger. He wiped it clean on the tip of his tongue. Immediately his face drew up. “Ew, that is nasty.”
The coughing fit woke her, she rolled over in bed and began to cough again. Her hair clung to her forehead in the sweat. Brennan reached over flipping on the bedside light. She sat up and covered her mouth with her hand as she continued to cough. The nausea had returned making her feel worse, her headache had also returned.
“Hey you alright?” Booth asked coming into the room. “I heard you from the living room.”
“Did I wake you?”
He shook his head. “No, not really I was just about to come in with your medicine.” Just by looking at her he knew she wasn't going to be going to work tomorrow. There was no way. He stepped forward placed a hand on her forehead.
“Your fever is going, your throat still hurt.” She nodded, “head hurt?” she nodded again. Booth placed a hand on each of her shoulders pulling her closer. He put his lips to her forehead, then pulled back.
She looked at him confused. “Booth why did you just do that?”
“Checking your fever,” he replied as he sat down on the bed.
“You already did with your hand . . .and you bought that thermometer.” He gave her a crooked grin.
“I had to be sure ya know.” he stood quickly before another part of his body embarrassed him. “I'm going to get your medicine.”
“And a juice chaser.” she added.

What happened to ch4?
I think I might prefer 7-Up or something similar as a chaser(the thought of OJ following mock cherries makes me cringe).
Anyway, I always enjoy s/he's sick stories. Nobody acts the same when they're sick as when they're well, so it's a chance to play with different sides ot the character. Okay, that sounded rather pompous. Let's stick with I'm enjoying it!

Booth woke with his hands tucked beneath his head, rested on the softest pillow he had ever put his head on. Also his body was pillowed by something that was definitely not the couch. He slowly opened his eyes squinting almost immediately against the bright sunlight.
Where did he sleep? He didn't remember going to the couch. Lifting his head he looked to the right, realization slowly set in as he looked to his left. The dark hair curled out covering the pillow and most of the comforter. A few wadded tissues covered the space between them, she was on her side so all he saw was they back of her head.
He slept with Bones! Not slept with her as in intercourse but waking up with her had to be better than the largest piece of pie he could ever get. He watched as her hand came up and reached behind her she brought it down hitting his shoulder. “Booth,” her voice was raspy with sleep and from the sore throat.
“Yeah,” he replied grabbing her head to stop her from hitting him.
“Its time for you to get up, your gonna be late.” He released her hand.
“I'm awake Bones, what time is it?” he asked turning over to his back.
She groaned and grabbed the small digital clock bringing to close to her face. “Its seven,” Booth groaned and sat up.
“Did you sleep okay?” Brennan looked at him over her shoulder.
She seemed to be contemplating her answer. “If I say no are you going to make me take more of that disgusting medicine?”
“Probably,” he said laughing.
She rolled back over to her side. “Fine, then I slept like a baby.”
Booth scooted off the bed and went into the kitchen, Brennan heard the cabinets close and the refrigerator open and shut. She pulled the comforter over her head holding them tight. She tightened her grasp when she heard him approach.
“C'mon Bones, your worse than Parker.” He grabbed the covers trying to pry them from her grip.
“Booth stop!” she tugged back.
He pulled harder. “No Bones, your not going to get any better if you don't take it. Stop acting like a six year old.” Brennan shoved the comforter down. Her eyes met his darkening with anger.
“Are you scolding me Booth?”
He poured the medicine and handed it to her. “Yes, drink.” She took the cup and downed the medicine. Swallowing it and wincing that was a taste that she would never get use to. “Just wait until you get sick, I'm gonna make you drink it.”
“Aww Bones, you'd come take care of me if I was sick?”
“No,” she turned over to her other side pulling the covers over her head. “go to work,”
Booth showered and dressed in the guest bathroom. Brennan lay in bed on her back staring at the ceiling. Listening to Booth shower, listening to the water run through the pipes. She tried not to imagine what he would look like with the water rolling down his body. How he would look when he stepped out and the steam from the shower would roll out of the bathroom behind him. How could. . . .
“Bones,” he said. Watching her, she was squirming beneath the covers. What was she doing? He wondered. “Bones?”
She mentally shook herself as she realized he was standing there watching her. “Hmm?”
“I've been calling you for the last few minutes now,” he replied.
With her finger she twirled the air next to her ear. “My ears are stuffed maybe I didn't hear you.”
Booth knew a lie when he heard one, she had been doing a lot of that lately especially when he realized that she had went off on her day dreams. He looked at her and shook his head. “I was just saying that I was leaving, do you want me to bring anything with me when I come back?”
“Um, yeah can you bring some of those little cookies you keep leaving here? I'll reimburse you when you come back.”
Booth chuckled. “Sure Bones did you finish the entire bag?” her cheeks reddened a little as she shook her head. “You little pig,” she turned her nose to him. “See you after six,” he said.
She relaxed back down into the covers and covered her head. All these thoughts she was having of Booth had to stop. She shouldn't be thinking of her partner in this way, but once you looked at him and she was looking you couldn't help but take notice of his build, the way he carried himself.
“Oh,” Booth had returned she quickly removed the covers from her head. He looked at her one eye brow raised. “What are you doin Bones?”
She shook her head slightly too much of that made her dizzy. “Nothing, what did you want?”
“I'll be ho- I'll be back for lunch for your medicine and food from the diner.” He smiled at her and headed out the door once again.
As he stood in the elevator he wondered if she caught onto what he almost said but correct himself. “How long are you going to hold your tongue Seeley Booth?” He asked the reflection in the shiny backing of the elevator doors.

Chapter:7

Genre:Fluff
Disclaimer: I don't own Bones
She had fallen asleep a few minutes after he left her coughing fits had subsided enough for her to sleep. Thoughts of Booth danced in her head vivid pictures of him in the shower and of him sleep in her bed. When she awoke she was still shivering from one that involved Booth and strawberry ice cream. Brennan put a hand to her forehead, she wasn't hot anymore so she couldn't blame this one on the fever.
Looking around she decided she needed to get up and move around. Laying in bed was getting boring and she needed something to occupy her mind. Throwing back the covers she slid out of bed. She caught a glimpse of herself in the mirror as she walked out of her room.
Her skin was pale, her eyes were puffy and her hair. . . well it was beyond any hope of salvation. Shuffling she headed into the living room noticing the blanket she thought she had thrown over Booth last night on the floor. How had he ended up in her bed? When she woke during the night there he was on his stomach no shirt head covered with one hand. The other outstretched towards her.
Had she had a coughing fit last night? She really couldn't remember. Brennan bent down and grabbed the blanket from the floor. Walking into the kitchen she folded it and placed it in one of the kitchen chairs.
She searched around her kitchen for something to snack on. It had been so long since she really spent any time there she was sure there was nothing too good to eat in the refrigerator. There was soy nuts in the pantry, she didn't feel like having those. So she dug a little deeper, there were no salt kettle cooked chips in the back. She was sure Booth shoved those back there. She reached a little further, he liked to hide junk food sometimes cause he knew if she found it, she would either eat it or toss it.
She stood on tip toe as she searched around digging until her fingers curved around something familiar. She pulled back bringing the package out, milk duds. “Score!” she said in a raspy voice.
With a smile on her face and juice in her hand and the milk duds she would not tell him she found Brennan headed back to the living room. She plopped down on the couch then closed her eyes to the dizzy spell that threatened to make her throw up. Once it passed she piled pillows up beneath her and laid against them. As she started in on the milk duds she reached for the blanket. Groaning loudly she pushed herself up and headed back to the kitchen to retrieve it.
She noticed her cell phone blinking as she stood and headed for the blanket. She grabbed it and sat back down on the couch. Laying back against the pillows again she pressed the home key on her cell to bring the screen to life. Five missed calls all from Booth three text messages all from Booth. Brennan rolled her eyes when the cell phone rang again. “You are going to drive me nuts why did you even go in today,”
“Bren?” Angela's voice came in through the phone.
“Oh Ange, sorry I thought you were Booth.”
Angela smiled to herself. “Cam told me you were sick and that Booth took you home. So did he stay the night too?”
“Yes, apparently he wanted to be certain I was okay.”
“I'm sure, but sweetie seriously you sound like death warmed over. Do you want anything? Ice cream, magazines, body oil, strawberries, an ice hot pad, protection?”
Brennan frowned obviously confused a little lost. “Why would I need protection and body oil? Although the magazines and ice cream sound great I've read everything I have here.”
Angela rolled her eyes “Sweetie we really do have to work on your imagination. Its quite limited.” She replied. “You want me to bring you lunch?”
“Um no,” she closed her eyes she knew exactly what Angela was thinking. “Booth is going to be back with lunch and to make sure I take my medicine but your welcome to come by though.”
“Your going to see it one day hun but I will be by later on with magazines and ice cream. What kind do you want?”
She didn't have to think about it she knew exactly what she wanted. She was sure eating it was going to bring back a very very vivid memory. “Strawberry.”

Angela used her key to get in, she balanced the magazines and the bag containing ice cream in one hand. She found Brennan asleep on the couch, she didn't wake when she shut the door. Angela headed into the kitchen putting the ice cream up she carried the magazines over the couch.
“Aww sweetie,” Angela said taking the empty milk duds carton off her stomach. She moved the half empty glass of juice to the coffee table. The television was on but it was down low, What is she watching? Two bears were fighting running at each other knocking each other down. As they rolled on the ground Angela grabbed the remote and flipped off the television.
“hmmm Booth I was watching that,” Brennan said her eyes still closed. Angela shook her shoulder.
“Hey Bren, its not Booth. Wake up sweetie.” Her eyes popped open. She smiled and stretched.
“Oh Ange, hey. . . .how long have you been here?”
Angela handed her the magazines. “Long enough to see that you should really find something more interesting to watch no wonder you were asleep.”
“That was an educational program I enjoy nature.” she said her voice still scratchy. She scanned through the magazines. The last one caught her eye. “Cosmo?”
“Every girl should have one,” Angela said when Brennan gave her a confused stare. “believe me you will thank me. Just do it in gifts.” Angela looked around the apartment, she noticed Booths slippers next to the door.
“So where does studly sleep?” she said with a smile.
Brennan rolled her eyes. “Oh Angela stop. He only stayed last night because I was really out of it, how he ended up in my bed I have no idea.”
“You gonna blame it on the NyQuil?”
“Angela,” she said tilting her head to the side. “your letting your imagination run with you.”
“Good one of us needs to, that man has it bad for you sweetie and I'm still trying to figure out why you haven't tapped that.”
At that moment Booth walked in carrying a bag of fruit and some cookies. One bag he carried was from a bakery. “Tapped what?” Booth asked as he walked in.
“Hi Booth, just checking on your patient.” she said turning to Brennan. “I brought some magazines and ice cream I offered to bring body oil and . . .”
“Good bye Ange!” Brennan said pushing her from the couch. “Tell Cam I will call later. Will you bring some files by when you get off?”
“Yeah sure,” Angela replied as she stood. She smiled and looked from Booth to Brennan. “sweetie remember what I said.”
Brennan rolled her eyes. “I'm just thinking for both of us, letting my imagination run.” Angela slipped out the door passed a very confused Booth.
“Did I miss something?” he asked.
Brennan shook her head and curled down into the cushion of the couch. “You missed just enough. So what did you bring? Whats in the white bakery bag?”
Booth went to the kitchen as he spoke. “Um well your dad called to check on you, and Cam also called to check on you. Your dad sent snicker doodle cookies and Cam sent you something too, she said you would enjoy it.”
“Great snicker doodles,” she said. Booth grinned to himself as he grabbed a fresh glass and began to pour up some juice. When he spoke to Max the conversation wasn't all non productive.
“I know your sweet on my daughter,” Max had said.
Booth remembered choking on his coffee. “I'm not. . .”
“Don't lie Booth it doesn't look good on you,” he said. “if you bring her cookies she will be putty in your hands. She wouldn't eat them all the time but when she was sick she loved to eat junk food. Now I'm going to tell you this under strict confidence, and if you tell her that I told you well. . . .Lord help us all.”
They had looked at each other for quite sometime before Booth nodded. “Well if she's really cranky and can't sleep or won't sleep rub her back or her stomach.”
That time he did choke so badly that Max thought he was going to pass out. “Y-you want me t-to what?!”
“Yeah, she loves it she falls right to sleep. Its a trick her mother and I found that worked. Never with Russ but always with Tempe. Even after she hit her teen years ya know before. . .”
“Yeah I know.” Booth replied knowing exactly what he was referring to.
“Believe me Booth, she loves it. It's also a good way to sooth her when she's really pissed off. Learned that when she was 12 and Russ wouldn't let her play kick ball.”
Booth assured Max that she would never know he divulged such prized information. Booth grabbed the juice and the medicine and went into the living room. He sat on the couch down at her feet. He handed her the glass and the medicine. Brennan downed it and as like before she winced as the taste hit her tongue. She threw the juice back. “What did Cam send me?” Booth reached into one of the bags and pulled out a very thick paper back book. He handed it to her, Brennan smiled.
“She said you would like it, you both like the same author.”
Booth noticed the pink cover on the coffee table. He picked up the magazine and read the cover. He turned it so it faced frontward. “Your reading Cosmo?”
She jerked it from his fingers. “Angela brought it.” she said sticking it under her leg. “Did you get the cookies?” he pulled out the package of miniature chocolate cookies. Her smile widened as she remembered her throat her smile faded.
“Whats wrong?” Booth scooted closer to her.
“I'm sick of being sick Booth,” she said her throat making her voice sound scratchy. “I've been so bored and getting up makes me dizzy.” She knew it was not her to whine but it usually wasn't her who got sick. She hated being sick it was the most annoying thing she had ever lived through and this was only day two.
“Well I did bring something else,” he said pulling something else out of the bag. It was pink and fluffy with big black weeping eyes and the cutest nose she had ever seen. Booth turned it around so she could see the tail. “Look if you curl it around your finger and pull it curls back when you pull your finger out.”
Her smile quickly returned as she took the pig hugging it to her. “Its cute Booth. Thank you.” As she held her pig Booth took their lunch out of the bag that he brought it in. A burger and fries for himself and a large container of fries for her. “I asked them not to make them too crispy ya know your throat and all. Just be sure you chew thoroughly so they will go down smoothly.”
She stared at him as he ate his food, no one else would have the fore thought to do that for her. She could feel moisture collecting in the corner of her eyes. A tear escaped as she tried desperately to blink it back.
“Bones?” Booth turned to her just in time to see her wipe at her tears. “Are you okay? Are you hurting?” He reached for her hand.
“No, no Booth I'm fine. Eat your food you have to get back to work.” she said pushing his hands away. “Before it gets cold Booth,” she said when he continued to look at her. “eat.”
“Okay Bones,” he replied but continued to glance over at her. Gosh she was beautiful even sick she was an amazing looking woman.

He's got it bad, doesn't he?
The pig is sweet, but I hope he brought a shake to go with those fries. I love a shake when I have a sore throat, myself, though the ice cream might be a suitable replacement... And as for the ice cream ON Booth scenario--sounds delicious!

Booth had eaten half his burger before he put it down and laid back on the couch. “I could fall asleep right here,” he said.
Brennan held her stuffed pig in her lap which Booth had named Jasper II trying not to yawn. “You better not Booth you have to get back to work.”
“What did Angela mean by body oil?” she could feel her cheeks reddened from the thoughts. She suddenly remembered the strawberry ice cream in her freezer and the dream about Booth. Immediately heat began to rise into her cheeks spreading over her ears and reaching her scalp.
“Bones?” Booth looked at her smiling. “Are you blushing?” His eyes widened as she pulled the blanket over her head. “You are blushing!”
Booth reached for the blanket and pulled it down. “I'm not blushing Booth, I don't blush.”
“You liar,” he said looking it her puffy blue eyes.
“Shouldn't you get ready to go back to work?” Booth held his breath as took in her obvious uncomfortable state. “Booth will you please stop looking at me like that,”
“I'm sorry Bones but even if I go to work now I am still gonna have questions about that body oil.” he said as he stood. She rolled her eyes at him he wanted to lean down and kiss her lips in goodbye. He liked this coming home for lunch sharing it with her. “I'm going to call you at four to remind you to take that medicine, and when I get in tonight I have a surprise for you.”
“If I don't take my medicine does that mean I don't get my surprise?”
Booth put his jacket back on and grabbed his keys off of the coffee table. “Take the medicine Bones, if I have to come back and make you take it your in trouble. I'll see you after six,” Booth headed out the door leaving her alone once again.
More channel surfing with a glass of juice, and her now growing anticipation of Booth coming back. What kind of surprise did he have in mind? She knew exactly what she wanted to do and right now it wasn't possible but she was sure she was going to make that dream a reality as soon as she got the nerve. Angela was right why hadn't she “tapped that” yet?
Booth held his breath as he sat at his desk, the letters on the paper were running together. He had been staring at the same paragraph for about twenty minutes. He couldn't concentrate thinking about the woman sitting in her apartment. After she mentioned body oil and he saw Cosmo he was suddenly having problems getting the idea of his partner being stripped down in front of him covered in body oil.
He looked at his watch for the third time in twenty minutes. Pushing back from his desk he took out his cell phone and dialed her number. It began to ring and continued to ring, he expected her to pick up on the second or third ring but she didn't. Booth let it ring until it went to her voice mail. He chose not to leave one and hit her speed dial again.
Booth was so engrossed in getting her on the phone he didn't realize that agent Perotta was standing at his desk. “C'mon Bones,” he growled flipping his phone shut. “she must be asleep.”
“Well maybe you shouldn't bother her then,” Booth jumped his feet slid from his desk as he spun around. She greeted him with a smile.
Her blonde hair was pulled back into a low pony tail as he looked at her he noticed that she had definitely taken time on her make up.
“Need something Perotta?”
She sat across from his desk crossing her legs in front of her. “I know we haven't talked in awhile but I just thought we could get a drink tonight?”
“I-uh.”
Her brow furrowed. “Are you alright agent Booth?”
“Yeah,” his cell phone began to ring. Picking it up he glanced at the L.E.D Bones flashed across the screen. “I gotta get this,” He flipped it open the covered the mouth piece with his hand when he realized she wasn't leaving his office. “This is private, you mind?” he asked with a smile.
“Oh, sure.” she replied. “You'll let me know about that drink right?” Booth nodded uncovering the mouth piece. “Bones, what were you doing why didn't you answer the phone?”
Brennan laid on the couch her head covered by the blanket she had thrown across her. “Booth I was asleep. Why do you tell me to rest when you call me?”
“I was just calling to see how you were,” he leaned back in his chair “Does your throat still hurt?”
“Its getting better, I ate some of the ice cream Angela brought and drank some tea with lemon.”
What would she say if he told her he wanted to come back spend time making her feel better, helping her get over her sickness. “Good,” he replied.
“Can I go back to sleep now?”
Booth straightened in his chair “Yeah of course Bones I'll talk to you later.”
“Hey Booth?” she said before he flipped the phone shut.
“Yeah Bones?”
She yawned into the phone. “Can you bring some of those little cookies home with you when you come in? There really good.”
He grinned as he said. “Sure Bones,”
Booth was as giddy as a school boy when he left his office Bones had been awake when he called her at four to remind her to take her medicine. She groaned and complained but she did take it.
She asked again about her surprise bugging him to no end through out the conversation. “Bones I'm not going to tell you.” Booth had said. “I'll be there in an hour okay.”
She pressed the end button on her phone, the gears in her head began to turn. What was he bringing home and why had she began referring to her apartment as his home?
A question that was stuck in her head, still stuck with her while she showered and as she washed her hair. Even as she stood naked in front of her dresser trying decide what she was going to put on. At least she could rule out jeans she was definitely still stuck inside.
