Re: For those who haven't watched since day 1
I started by watching the season 3 first episode, in spanish on PR channel that used to run the show sunday afternoon, didn't think that much of it that first day, but by the third sunday I got completely addicted to it, went to the nearest Blockbuster and rented the 4 seasons, watch them all in ONE weekend, when I got done with them, went into fox.com and got up to date with the first 5 episodes of season 5...bought the four seasons of it to watch them slowly
(which I already did) and now spend my thursday nights watching Bones (obviously till the whole hiatus started) ...actually have my friends and family addicted to it...so I feel like I've watched it since day one, even though I have just been watching it by a couple of months...
Re: For those who haven't watched since day 1
Well i was in love with Buffy, and i ended up getting all the seasons of Buffy, and i also love David/Angel. So any way every now and then i would see a preview for Bones and be like "OMG it's Angel!!" but i never actually watched it. Then i had a friend who watched it, and she kept telling me how good it was, so one day i decided to get season 1. Any way i watched pilot, and i actually didn't instantly love it, i just though it was alright, but i kept watching because i wanted to give it a fair go. So i kept on watching and by "graft int he girl" i really liked it, so i got season 2 and after about 3 episodes of season 2 i became totally hooked, and now i find myself watching it every day, and co-incidentally i like season 1 better now than i did when i first watched it; in fact Pilot is now one of my favourite episodes.
So that is my story
So that is my story

I started watching it after I flicked the channel over when there was nothing else on. It was the aliens in the spaceship, and after watching a few more episodes and I was hooked. As soon as I had saved up enough money I bought season 1-3 and then I was officially obssesed

Re: For those who haven't watched since day 1
First let me say that I was a DIE HARD x-files fanatic. After that show ended so crappily I vowed never, ever to watch another fox/crime/FBI/UST/partner fest ever again. Yeah...that last long lol My first impression of bones was that it was a compete mulder and scully rip off and I wanted no parts.
My friends and family started watching and i bashed it every chance I got. Then....I watched the end in the beginning over the summer after my friends wouldn't shut up about it. I was hooked instantly. Imagine my surprise to find it not only is NOT a mulder and scully rip off....but bones and booth are 100 percent everything mulder and scully never were. I was ecstatic lol
I spent all summer catching up. I watched season four in three days lol
It's definitely different, having not been watching it all along. I'm often stuck in the "this show is amazing...it can do no wrong" squee fest and I have to go back and re-watch the early ones to gain some perspective.

I also forgot to mention that I did not like Brennan at all. I'm ashamed to admit it now. But it took me up until.....hmm...the man in the fall out shelter to start liking her. I found her irritating and hard to like. I liked booth better but did not find DB attractive AT ALL. I didn't even make the connection that he was on buffy/angel. What kind of 90's child am I??? lol
But...needless to say, first impressions AREN'T everything. Brennan is now my favorite character of ALL TIME. she beats out Meredith Grey and Dana Scully (my previous favs) hands down. And DB....well....I think he's smokin'. not sure what kind of crack I was on to think otherwise lol

Re: For those who haven't watched since day 1
One day I was watching L&O on TNT, and the episode ended.
...
And I was all into my Photoshop, and the remote was on the floor, and I thought, "Crap, I need to get up and change the channel." Pfftt
Then, there was some panicked, heavy breathing coming from some chick in a dark car. That's right, by the end of Aliens, I was standing, like, an inch from my television. And then TNT told me there were two more episodes coming on, and I was so ecstatic that it was ridiculous.
I'd seen commercials of the show, and just thought it was another drama with a little bit of coupling in the background. I didn't know that the coupling was EPIC and are the whole point of the show!
Season three had ended (like, that day). So I had to wait for the next season to start, but it was okay, because I had a load of catching up to do.

Re: For those who haven't watched since day 1
I am like Tink. I never did Buffy/Angel. Never got into the X Files. And, I had seen the previews for Bones on AI. I never really caught it though b/c I was always watching something else. Anyway...I think I caught the PitH...the end of it. And like Tink...I never thought Brennan was cute...and I didn't think DB was cute either. A couple of months ago I was watching something, flipped it to TNT and caught a rerun. I liked it....and I was blown away. I don't remember the epi now...b/c I was hooked. It was a S3 epi though. Anyway...that Thursday I saw another epi...and I was lost as to what happened where...etc. (It was a S5 epi LOL!) I went the next day and bought S1 and 2...watched them, then went and got S3 and 4 and watched them...got caught up on S5 on line...and have been hooked every since.
I have to say, this is the first series that I have gotten into like I have. I do so love my Bones!!

The first episode I saw was on the TNT News Year Day Marathon of 2009 and it was "Aliens in the Spaceship," which still remains one of my favorite episodes. I was immediately hooked and rented all the DVDs from Netflix and then started watching the new episodes on FOX. I never did Buffy/Angel, although I knew of David Boreanaz because one of my best friends was obsessed with Buffy and she told me how hot the male lead was. This is the first show I have gotten into like this and I love it!

I was also a huge X-files fanatic (ok still am) and one of my fellow philes convinced me I would love this show. I have been known to get obsessed and am especially nuts about continuity. So, I headed to my local video store and rented season 1. Lets just say I finished three seasons in about two weeks. And that is impressive considering I have a full time job and a kid (never slept really). Then downloaded the first half of season 4 on itunes until I caught up to the current episodes. The rest is history!

Re: For those who haven't watched since day 1
I do not watch TV. L&O is usually on in the kitchen when I am fixing dinner and is one show I could stand to watch. My husband loves having the TV on once he gets home, so L&O was about all we could agree on.
I guess I saw adds over the last couple of years about the show, but I couldn't be interested. I actually thought, what a stupid show. I would never want to watch that!!! Of course I said this about two weeks before I became an addict.
I had seen parts of a GitG a year or so ago, but had not connected it to the show. Then I saw PithO, and of course DB was at his finest. Then I saw DitD, and again, I was intrigued. I went and rented the first two seasons, ended up buying all four, and have become an addict. (I have never been an addict of any type of TV. I just don't watch it.) I have been addicted about five months.
I think part of the appeal is that ED is not the typical plastic Hollywood female that TV seems to push down our throats. Her physical appearance is more old 40's, 50's Hollywood, before plastic surgery became the norm. Just that fact makes it easier for me to relate to her character. I could come up with dozens more. (I loved the episode they did on the girl who had too much plastic surgery.)
As for DB, I never watched or wanted to watch Angel or Buffy. I still don't. DB in his younger years has very little appeal for me. Boy, does he tear up the screen on Bones, and he and ED together on screen are a match made in heaven. (That is another subject. Let us hope we get many more years of watching them together.) DB is attractive because he doesn't play to the typical TV male. I am not attracted to waifs as men.
I am an addict. I am sure some psychologist will come up with a name for this addiction we all share, and there will be a twelve step program for it.

LOL- I was reading this article in this mommy magazine about "soft" addictions. Additictions that are not physically harmful, but impact your life. Examples being TV shows, the internet and caffiene. And I was like, HEY! I have all of these! GO ME

Re: For those who haven't watched since day 1
How I got into Bones is very strange. Basically I was frustrated because as House fans will know the good ship Huddy has been hit by a very large Lucas-shaped iceberg. I decided to comfort myself with a different ship. Somehow I'd heard of "Bones and Booth"--no idea where, youtube or online somewhere I guess. All I knew about Bones at that point was there was a popular ship called Bones and Booth and that it occasionally starred Stephen Fry. I didn't even know it was about solving crime or anything! So I watched some B&B videos on YT (not even knowing anything about the show), and then I googled the show and its characters. Unfortunately I was then spoiled for all the important episodes (things like Zack being Gormagon's apprentice. But tbh it was probably best that I knew that or I'd have been heartbroken). So yeah the first episode I watched was Santa in the Slush (for obvious reasons) and then because my obsession started in December, I watched all the christmas episodes and then the ones with Stephen Fry (cos I'm English). I then watched all the episodes in chronological order and got caught up. Needless to say I am now completely hooked! I don't think I've ever been this obsessed with a TV programme, I'd never joined a forum in my life but now I've joined the Fox one and just joined this one.

That sounds exactly like me! One of my rellies used to watch it and I bagged the show constantly because of Brennan and how socially inept she was - it used to frustrate the hell out of me! Then I saw EitB and was hooked, instantly - I thought it was such an original idea and it completely messed with my brain - not being a regular watcher at that point, i had no idea what was real and what wasn't.
From that point, I bought the box set of DVDs and watched Bones day in day out to catch up (think my record was 10 eps in one day). Now I'm unashamedly addicted, love Brennan to bits and am a huge BB shipper
