November 1 - Vegan Day - Lush Cosmetics Promo
In honour of Vegan Day (who knew??) , Lush Cosmetics is having a promotion "Get a FREE vegan bath bomb or soap on orders $60 & up! Use promo code: VEGAN09DAY* ."
Here is a list of all the vegan bath bombs and soaps listed for the promo :
[Only admins are allowed to see this link]
Here is a list of all the vegan products:
[Only admins are allowed to see this link]
All their products are vegetarian and there are plenty of vegan products too. So for those of you who are Lushies already and need an excuse to buy some more Lush (Christmas & Halloween products are up too!) to stock up. Even if you don't feel like spending all the money to get a free bath bomb or soap (i hear ya) you can always just buy a few items if interested.
Just thought I would put this on here as I like Lush's products and know there are a few veggies around these parts - Lush is fab even you aren't veg.

Thanks for the post! I've heard of Lush, but I have never tried them. I just might since I'm not so happy with my current vegan liquid foundation from Zuzu. I'll check out the promotion!

They don't have actual makeup though - more bath, shower, facial, hand & body care. They have a sister company B Never Too Busy To Be Beautiful ([Only admins are allowed to see this link] that sells actual makeup, however they aren't in North America. I've never tried their products but some people who use Lush seem to enjoy them. If you are seriously interested they probably ship to NA as Lush UK will ship over here.
The promotion may be available in the stores too, so if you have one near you (check their website for locations) I would suggest taking a trip to one and smelling everything and getting help from the sales associates too, since you've never used their products before.

Thanks again! Can't believe they don't have make-up since the name of the company has "cosmetics" in it.
I'm still gonna check it out tomorrow!

Yeah it is kinda weird. I was thinking about that afterwards too. Are you acutally going to a store or just online. Enjoy it either way, but if possible head to a store
The guy who started Lush used to work for The Body Shop. He suggested to the company they make bath bombs but the BS didn't think they would sell well.....well he was able to launch an entire world wide company off of bath bombs! I wonder what the BS thinks of that idea now. lol.

I kinda missed it, too. I felt like I should have DONE something like especially...vegan-y? Like spread the word or something. Ah well. I ate vegan, but I do that EVERY day!

haha. me too!
Re: November 1 - Vegan Day - Lush Cosmetics Promo
Well, you might also get weird looks if you started wishing people Happy Vegan day
As I doubt most people even would know about there being such a day, I didn't. But when being vegan is part of your everyday life I guess you just go about doing your normal everyday things without thinking twice. FYI, I'm not vegan, I have toyed with the idea of going vegetarian but I do not want to run into iron deficiency issues which can cause a whole pile of health problems.

I'm a vegan and I take extra iron supplements every day. No problem. If you educate yourself and make sure you are getting the proper nutrients, it's not really a big deal. The only big problem is B12. I give myself injections, but there are also oral supplements. Emily Deschanel actually gives herself shots twice a week. Not that that is fun, by any means, but it's not as bad as it sounds, either.

Yeah B12/folate deficiency can cause megaloblastic (pernicious) anemia. Hmm I could go from taking people's blood to giving myself injections...do you get a prescription from your doctor for that? Where do you inject? Yes it is really something you need to educate yourself about and probably even discuss with your doctor to make sure you are still getting the proper amount of nutrients, I guess mainly iron would be the one most lacking from a meatless diet.

Yes, I do get a prescription. I inject it in my leg, either one. I believe Emily does, too, although don't quote me, I can't quite remember what she said. It's the easiest place and once you learn how to do it, it's not bad at all. I just have a problem remembering to do it. I skipped last month entirely! Oops! There is also a nasal spray, but I hate things up my nose, so I actually prefer a needle stick.

P.S. Also, I just got this gum from a vegan online store and it has 100% of the daily recommended allowance of B12. I couldn't believe it!
