misc spoilers...
10/04 - After an exhaustive search [...], Fox's Bones has finally cast a grandfather (or 'Pops') for David Boreanaz 's Seeley Booth. Hank Booth, a former army EMT, will be played by a Walton. specifically Ralph Waite, who played patriarch John Walton on The Waltons from 1972-81. "This is an important role and when Ralph's name came up we were thrilled," says executive producer Stephen Nathan. "It's remarkable to see someone at that age so vital." Sounds like Ralph will need to be spry, considering his character will insist on accompanying his grandson out into the field to investigate "The Foot in the Foreclosure" on the Nov. 19 episode. "This is a really good murder," promises Nathan. "All that's left is ash and one foot, and Hank can't help but tag along." The episode kicks off with Hank, recovering from a bypass, leaving a nursing home after getting into physical altercations with his male nurses. "He walks out and comes to live with Booth, whom he raised," says Nathan. "They'll try to rekindle the life they had for so many years, but you can never quite reclaim the past." We will also learn the reasons behind Booth's abusive father abandoning his son at age 11. [...] Nathan says Bones still plans to cast Booth's father at a later date, adding, "You can't introduce too many relatives at once." Source: Keck's Exclusives
I can't to see "pops" come on! Sounds exciting!
10/24 - [Zooey Deschanel will] be playing Brennan's never-before-seen [cousin] in the show's Christmas episode on Dec. 10. Source: The Ausiello Files
10/24 - Moonlighting did it back in the 80's. And now Fox's Bones is planning an all black and white episode to air this spring. "A lot of shows have done those 40's film noir episodes," the show's executive producer Stephen Nathan tells me. "But what we're thinking of doing is going back a few more years to a 1930's era homage to Depression-Era comedies like (1936's) "My Man Godfrey" (starring William Powell and Carole Lombard) or (1934's) "The Thin Man" (starring Powell and Myrna Loy as Nick and Nora Charles), where they're living the high life in the midst of the Depression - drinking and having a good time while solving murders." 10/18 - Someone alert Arlington Cemetery- Bones may dig up JFK! After abandoning (for now) story lines that would have exhumed the corpses of Abraham Lincoln assassin John Wilkes Booth (Seeley's ancestor) and Adolf Hitler, the Fox series hired Kennedy assassination conspiracy expert Bob Harris to pen an episode (set to air in January) about the exhumation of a president's corpse. Executive producer Stephen Nathan tells me the story includes "the government sweeping in and asking for a favor, but then the bones disappear." Is the show worried about provoking the wrath of Kennedy's protective daughter, Caroline? "We're seeing how much we can get away with," says Nathan. "For now, we're not using his actual name, so it's Kennedy-like." Source: Keck's Exclusives
08/30 - The best tidbit we got, however, comes from the divine Ms. Deschanel, who tells us, "There absolutely will be more kissing between Bones and Booth." Other good news coming out of this season? Angela and Hodgins' long separation may finally be coming to an end. The beautiful Michaela Conlin tells us, "I hear Jack and Angela are going to be reconciling soon! Hopefully they're on their way to making it back toward each other." Source: Kristin on E!Online
08/16 - [Hart Hanson reveals:] I've got an idea for one more intern I'd like to bring in. A severely bipolar intern. [...] Jared will be back. I'm guessing for two or three episodes. I definitely have two ideas for him. Source: Zap2It's Korbi TV
08/16 - Exec producer Hart Hanson tells me that early in the season Angela will break her vow of celibacy with a man. "It's someone we've seen before," he teases. "I just told Michaela who it was and she shrieked." It's probably no coincidence that in the same episode, Angela and Brennan's friendship is tested like never before. "Angela and Brennan have a big fight," Hanson reveals. "Their friendship is deeply challenged. It'll be the first time that Brennan realizes that being totally rational about something isn't necessarily being a good friend. And every time she has done that in the past, Angela has come around and excused Brennan's behavior. This time, if they're friendship is to be maintained, Brennan has to take a step toward the irrational." Source: The Ausiello Files
08/09 - While chatting with Bones creator Hart Hanson at the FOX TCA party, he spilled that Booth and Brennan's original psychiatrist will be making a return appearance to the show. "Stephen Fry (Gordon Gordon Wyatt) seems to be available, so we're going to try and get him for episode ten," Hart told us. "It may be for the Christmas show....if it's the Christmas show, he's the perfect guy to come back." Source: Zap2It's Korbi TV
08/02 - There will be another new assistant (or two) next season. Hart Hanson (executive producer) said, "I know we'll bring in at least one more. And we have ideas for two. Possibly two, if we lose one of our regulars." Before you freak out, Hart didn't mean that a regular castmember is leaving. He meant a regular squint (er, that would mean colleague). [...] As for that baby storyline, Emily said, "It's something that will probably be addressed in the next season." [Hart] Hart added, "We have some other things to get past first before Brennan can get back to thinking about a child." [...] One last teaser for next season: "Episode five or six of this year is the trial of the Grave Digger, and not a lot of evidence survived," Hart told the panel audience of the episode where Bones and Hodgins were buried alive by the villain known as the "Grave Digger" and where she wrote a letter while underground. "It's very likely that what she wrote in the letter will surface as evidence in that case." Source: Kristin on E!Online
08/02 - Here's further proof that brain tumor-afflicted Booth will be on the mend this fall on Bones: The next Fox character who visits him will be a flesh-and-blood human, not an animated talking baby. Sources confirm that Fox is toying with the idea of staging a crossover next season that would find Booth and Brennan working on a case with Tim Roth's Lie to Me doc Lightman. The insider cautions that it's in the very early stages and "may not even happen," which is even more reason for me to get this out there now before the whole thing falls apart! I believe that picture (minus the caption) or one very like it is in the promo shots in the other thread, if that helps!
