What's New?
Wow! Where the heck have I been the past few months?! I miss you guys so much! It seems like I haven't been around in forever, which may be close to the truth.
Back in August, I moved to Houston, TX. I accepted a position at a private church school teaching in the high school. I teach four levels of English, and then World History, and World Geography. I have such great kids & ia fantastic supporting staff. I couldn't ask for a better staff my first year out. Overall, I love my job. Like all jobs, it can be stressful. Late work, struggling students, all the things students stress teachers out with. The school I am at is currently fundraising to help pay our debt, which is also a frustrating.
I moved not knowing anyone but my principal and one other teacher, but even at that, I had only met them at my interview. Being the social person I am, not knowing many people was hard. Since then, I have made a few friends, but most are from school and some from church. The majority of my time is spent working on things for school - lesson plans, grading, fundraising, etc. My spare time is spent mostly with a friend of mine & her family. We go walking 2-3x per week, cook together, & do fun stuff at night. She has been fantastic.
When I graduated from college, I graduated without any credit. I never had a credit card in college & graduated without any debts, which meant I would have no credit. Which means I still don't have cable or internet, which I why I haven't been on here in months
I hope everyone is doing fantastic! Email me, find me on fb, call me, something!
