Exactly. Oh, but that's what HH likes...unresolved endings that he can "play" around with, therefore dragging all of us viewers along...again. Although I'm one of the fans who liked the finale last year, I still am not going to be able to put up with this for all that much longer. They've gotta admit SOMETHING and I'll go so far as to say, they have to have a KISS as well before the end of S5 or it's REALLY gonna start getting dicey...and I REALLY don't want to abandon this show 'cuz I just luv B&B that much.

Ah, who am I kidding? I'd probably never abandon Bones, but I'd really rather not be a VERY pissed off fan for the remainder of the show, either.

i feel the exact same way, i just want a kiss, and we have all been watching for 5 years now and we deserve that. I am more than happy to watch the whole series, but i need to know something is gonna happen and they will get together in the end, otherwise i would feel cheated, more cheated than if they had already slept together. ANd i also want them to get together like half way through next season or the end of this one, so i can SEE them together, see their relationship progress and grow, and if u ask me when they were together in tEitB it was still tension filled and HOT!!

Well that's the thing, isn't it? On the one hand you've got HH and the writers who will tell you they don't want to lose that 'spark' between Booth and Brennan by getting them together, they're the ones that say that UST drives the show, and yet on the other hand there's been one show where they took all the UST away and what happened? Love it or hate it (on record for hate) TEitB had no problem with sexual tension, unresolved or otherwise - and let me just add that Em's wardrobe (all skirts and soft blouses?) was particularly good at keeping the plain old ST in place, at least on My end of things. There's absolutely no reason for the writers NOT to be able to get them together and keep tension, sexual or otherwise, in place as a driving force. Hell, them together can be more fraught with problems for the first year than them as partners ever was. Right now, if anything, the UST has begun to wane because it's been so long that we've come to accept it like a form of background radiation. Actual ST might be the only thing that keeps the show going from here on out, and if their current batch of writers can't do it? I volunteer myself, blc, my Queen, Sleepless, Mama and Squint4you to take over that part of the show. I can guarantee you all that you'll be happy with the product...though if blc, Sleepless, and I have anything to say about it you'll be watching on cable, possibly pay-per-view.

I really just think there is point where the UST leaves, regardless if they are together, if too many moments past and to much happens, they will lose that spark.

That's a scary thought, and for the most part I agree, but it's been 5 years and the flame hasn't dampened, I think at some point however people will get tired of watching ( If the reason they watch is to see B/B hook up).

Well, if I'm on the writing team, I'll at least have the cash for cable...

Now accoding to my copy of Forensic Files (which finally arrived, thank you), HH says, and I quote:

People are dying for them to be together. The reason people are dying for them to be together is because we've created that need. If we fulfilled it, put them together, everyone would be happy for about two minutes and then they would be bored with our series. I keep saying: "If I'm going to remove the unresolved romantic tension between them it has to be replaced by something else." Everyone always has suggestions and none of them are as powerful as a nacent love affair, of a love affair that has not been consumated. That's a real powerful engine from the earliest times. From Adam and Eve. You mess with it with great trepidation.

Part of me says he may have a point (about finding something as powerful), but I think he underestimates the fanbase somewhat. We're invested in these characters now, and he says elsewhere in the book that we the fans are a little rabid (no, not his actual words), so he should know that! We could go happily a season or two with a committed B&B--there will be other issues to deal with, adjustments to be made, and "Serendipity" aside, there is no way that all will be sweetness and light for them. They're not that kind of couple.

Rewatching tEitB I noticed some references to tPitP.
-The police kept the club "lab" shut down because of the murder. The government kept the lab shut down because of the investigation.
-In tEitB Max to Brennan: Why is it so hard for your husband to see the ways of the world? Brennan: because he wants me to be proud of him.
Max: Everyone serves somebody, something your husband refuses to accept. Brennan: He's stubborn. Max: He's a man of principle
In tPitP Booth refuses to accept the theory of "two gunmen" cause he feels proud of the country he serves and Cam points out that He's a man
-In tEitB when Booth finds out what Jared might have done, tells to Brennan in her office: I don't think I can live with this.
In tPitP same scene in Bones' office he tells her in other words the same thing when the theory of "two gunmen" comes up.
-The hidden gun in DJ's stuff & the replica rifle in the institute, both murder weapons.
-In tEitB Booth gets hit on the head by the gangster (Booth:Hi honey! Brennan: Are you ok?), in tPitP he gets hit by an agent (Bones:Booth??? Booth: Bones???)
-In tEitB Max helps Caroline to reopen the club. Caroline to Booth: I went on the front door, Max slipped in the back and we got it covered.
In tPitP Sweets helps Booth to break in the lab.
-In tEitB car scene with references to three eps. Brennan: Cam says everybody says I'm a cold fish.
Booth:what you are is Iceland. Cool to the touch but underneath, all volcano ( In HitF Angela tells Harmonia about the same thing)
Brennan: I don't like people thinking that I'm a cold fish.
Booth :Look, if you were really a cold fish, you wouldn't care. (In Xmas' ep. same scene in the car talking about the victim's mother being alone on his funeral Booth:You know Bones, sometimes I think your heart muscles are bigger than people give you credit for.)
Brennan:You used logic on me, that's sweet. End scene tPitP she tells him she's impressed by him going with his brain over his gut.
-In tEitB booth says to Brennan about Sweets: I got a soft spot for the kid and Sweets tells him: I won't dissapoint you. In tPitP Booth to Sweets: Attaboy Sweets, attaboy! Sweets didn't dissapoint him
-In tEitB the victim turned out to be a security consultant for a vaste disposal company in Newark. A vaste disposal company was also involved in the murder case of tXitF.
-In tEitB Angela drew a floor plan of the lab, in tPitP Hodgins drew a plan of the institute.
-Arastoo Vaziri has no accent, same as in the last S5 ep. he appeared
-In tEitB Sweets shows Hodging an mms he got from Fisher. In the "Avatar" ep. they have contact through cellphones during the whole ep.
-Before the last scene of tEitB we hear Hodgins' voice: You love someone, you open yourself up to suffering. That's the sad truth. Maybe they'll break your heart. Mabe you'll break their heart and never be able to look at yourself in the same way. Those are the risks. This could be a reference to his feelings for Angela.

So, if this whole theory about The End in The Beginning is true, which I think it is, we should see the Beginning at the end of this season cause I don't think there are many references left to be made to next season's eps. Rolling Eyes

I'd like to add something more. In tEitB Brennan compromised the evidence by taking Jared's gun in her hands and the case closed because of no proofs.
In tPitP the case also closed with no clear answer and Bones had to do a lot with this. In both cases she did it for Booth cause she knew he couldn't carry this burden.

In both eps the squints/employees are trying to deceive the agents/cops

In tEitB Angela tells Brennan she isn't a cold fish and Brennan replies "I'm Iceland" (what Booth told her). It reminded me of the small talking the girls had about nicknames and Bones said "Just what Booth calls me, just Bones". Same lovely expression on her face in both scenes.

Very nice thought here--we always want things to apply to B&B, but you have a very good point here about Hodgins and Angela. I swear I should just watch EitB every Thurs morning, just so I can catch whatever echo they've got going--but there have been a lot of things referencing the past 4 seasons. If I didn't know they signed on for a 6th season, I'd be concerned.

It's a possibility, But when I think of that episode I think of it solely in terms of B/B because it's completely in their perspective ( Brennan's writing or Booth's dream). So if voiceover was meant to reference Hodgins and Angela, it would be because either Booth or Brennan thinks they are meant to be together.

I agree 100% with you, treble. It's definitely an interesting thought about Hodgins' perspective, but we have to remember that that wasn't really our bug&slime guy Hodgins...it was crime novelist Hodgins. I think the whole voiceover could apply to how Hodgins feels NOW, but I don't think it was meant to be a clue or a hint THEN. It was purely B&B's perspectives, IMO.

A small detail I noticed in TDitD. In the beginning the priest appeals to Michael Archangel.
In the beginning of tEitB Jared shows Brennan a matchbook which was found next to victim's body and asks her if she knows a place called Amicangelo's.
