Did any of you notice the songs Sweets performs with his band "Gormogon" in tEitB? Take a look at the lyrics:

1st song:
Every single step I take
seems to go the other way
from the one that I'd intented.
Thought this lunacy had ended.
And the seasons never change
they just always stay the same
like a band with just a drummer
I'm in never ending summer.
And I'm alone now, I'm alone now...

It could be a reference to Booth in tHitF when he took the step to tell Bones about his feelings but ruined it with the "attagirl" line. And the seasons never change, they just always stay the same That's a big truth Laughing, we still wait for just a single kiss!

2nd song: Sweets sings it with Daisy sitting next to him.
That makes sense of them
sinking to the starting line
where our love was just a fin

I think that this song has a reference to the upcoming ep with the wedding. IMO the couple will be Sweets and Daisy. Fin is the french word for End. The wedding will be the Happy End for their love. Them could be a reference to B&B who maybe will start their relationship (sinking to the starting line) in that ep.

That's what I got from the songs and I may be wrong but I think they do have a meaning cause otherwise it wouldn't make any sense. Sweets didn't perform in the club after all, so why have him singing just some verses from each song if there was no further meaning hidden?

Here's one I missed while writing my Inkslinger today--the alter boy at the beginning of the ep says he smells something, wrinkling his nose, and the priest tells him it's just the candles. Shades of B&B in the church at the end of Aliens--it's not just the part about God and faith, as Rob pointed out.

Excellent catch. I swear they really are working on hitting all the "previous season" notes aren't they? I have an idea of how I'm going to pass the time until April 1st, I'm going to eventually go back and watch all the S5 eps and see what we might have missed. If nothing else I'll get my Bones quota in!

I like your insights, but i don't know if it's worth reading that far into it, because both those songs were written by JFD's band (dayplayer) and i remember a JFD interview somewhere where he'd been asking HH to find someway for his band to perform on the show...
But hey you might be right and they did specifically pick those bits to the song?

Very nice thought here--we always want things to apply to B&B, but you have a very good point here about Hodgins and Angela. I swear I should just watch EitB every Thurs morning, just so I can catch whatever echo they've got going--but there have been a lot of things referencing the past 4 seasons. If I didn't know they signed on for a 6th season, I'd be concerned.

Good point, if u noticed what bones wrote and what hodgins said, was different. I also think that maybe bones wrote about her and booth, but hodgins voice over could perhaps be more a reference to him and angela.

I had actually never noticed this before but I was rewatching The End in the Beginning today and I transcribed it and you're right, there are two lines in Hodgins speech that do not appear on Brennan's screen at all , they are italicized below . I don't know what to make of those 2 lines because to me they seem to apply to Brennan the most (well the one about personal happiness anyway). Thoughts anyone?

personal happiness is unbearable.

I noticed that the first time I watched it and I just figured the continuity people on set had just made a mistake. But, if HH was being very careful about the way he phrased things in that epi, then maybe I'm wrong. Does make ya wonder.

Yeah it's pretty obvious so i think it was intentional.
We are looking at Brennans screen when Hodgins says "but they are a burden that lifts us, burdens that allow us to fly", while brennans screen says "burdens which allow us to fly." But she also says "that allow us to fly" while she's typing it.

Why does she type something different then what shes saying??

See, that's why I thought it was a mistake. Why switch those simple words around? It doesn't really make sense, which vs. that? Kinda strange.

Yeah I agree with this, it is supposed to be a combination of both Booth's dream and Brennan's story, the interpretations would be different depending on who's point of view it is. I think that's also why those 2 lines don't appear on Brennan's screen , I think it's supposed to indicate that they are Booth's thoughts.
