(side note caught the movie SuperBad over the weekend and who was in it but the lovely Daisy herself......was very weird to see her in a different role)

And THAT is an entire character turn around from the last time she was in court when Sweets testified that "Dr. Brennan is hyper-rational. She's capable of rationalising almost anything"...(I take it that the "almost" means except when the man she loves has been kidnapped and stuffed into a yellow submarine? scratch

Well......not all the evidence went KaBlewie just the stuff Hodgin's had stolen ( which I think was only the piece of bumper sticker and some test results) and the stuff that Hodgins had been working on himself, and Booth's yellow submarine/military ship(ok so that's a lot of stuff LOL) . Plus they now have all the stuff found in the storage locker.

Surely that's inadmissible in a court of law? They had Diggy detained and confined to an office chair without probable cause/proper evidence...Unless you count the damage to her ribs as concrete proof? And then Brennan smacked her with a briefcase! cheers

Rebecca would be my pick of your list. I look at it this way:

Russ owes Booth too much and I think, like Max, he's actually wondering why they aren't already together.
Parker likes Bones and already basically asked the $64,000 question - why aren't they dating already?
Booth's dad would almost be a negative endorsement!
Sully is someone I can actually see rooting for them to get together - even though it seems counter intuitive I think like Booth, Sully just wants Brennan to be happy.
cousin Margaret could work but I don't see anything she says as having any real *oomph* to it.

Rebecca though, she's got potential. If she interacts with Brennan then she would be speaking to her woman to woman, or more specifically as a woman who's loved Booth and lost him speaking to a woman who loves Booth and could lose him if she doesn't make a move. Then if Rebecca speaks to Booth she could be the one councilling him to take a chance on Brennan, tell him not to let past experiences (like theirs) color his outlook. Honestly if Rebecca were to tell Booth to get off his ass and make a move I think he'd listen to her.

Interesting list though my Queen, very interesting.

Well, O King, Booth's dad would be in the fallout column, as would Tink's notion of the Gravedigger. If the suggestion of an actual person wasn't there, I would be more inclined towards the aftermath of some drastic event unlocking lips and opening arms.

Cliche as that might be.

We don't know much about Booth's relationship with Rebecca these days. While your argument is reasonable, she is not always portrayed that way, even on the show. But I can see that if she were to tell him to man up already or something similar, it might jolt him into action.

Actually I've always favored the aftermath scenario myself - I think blc used it to great effect a number of times and as cliched as it might be, it's a classic for a reason. BTW, it sounded perfectly fine to me, then again, I'm a guy...

True. I was basing it mostly off their interaction in Season One but even then I think Rebecca is most effective if she's talking to Brennan. I'm of the opinion that it'll be Brennan who finally closes the distance between them, mostly because Booth has all but talked himself out of a relationship with her. When Gordon Wyatt is telling him to be patient and have hope, perhaps he's really counselling him to wait until Brennan is ready to make her move? Yeah, I know - doubtful. I really think someone should just shoot Booth in the head (graze people, nothing life threatening, just a graze) then a panicked Brennan can swoop in, lose her shit and end up kissing him senseless.

Please, no more shooting! Actually, I favor the opposite. Have something bad happen to Brennan (for a change) and Booth, coming down from a berserk rage/fear, finally realize that if he doesn't say something now, right now, the chance will be gone. And then of course, she can fall into his arms (or push him against the wall or pull him to her or whatever scenario you like) and madly reciprocate.

Not that there's anything wrong with her making the 1st move, but poor Booth's been through enough physically, don't you think?

lol! Okay, how about a superficial stabbing? And while I can appreciate the sheer volume of crap Booth's gone through, I mean seriously the FBI is probably considering yanking his field status given the hospital time he's logged, we did sort of see the whole berserk rage/fear thing already from him. Harbingers, when Brennan got stabbed, he was all wrapped around her, calling her baby, kissing her head and mumbling it would all be alright... and we got bubkus. Nope, it's gotta be Brennan snapping which means Booth takes the shot, but in deference to my Queen we'll say no gun so...a knife or maybe a garrot? Yeah, we haven't had anyone garroted on the show since Wannabe. Booth gets attacked with a garrot but is able to fight off his attacker before he suffers more than superficial trauma but the superficial wounds produce enough blood (and nice, bright, arterial blood to boot) to make Brennan panic?

Not that there's anything wrong with her making the 1st move, but poor Booth's been through enough physically, don't you think?

I really do agree, it's just that I think it's his role in life. Brennan takes the emotional hits, he takes the physical ones. Mostly.

The blood would do it, she says thoughtfully. Especially after Wannabe. Anything that breaks the skin enough to bleed like that would probably be sufficient--head wounds are supposed to be bad that way. And then you bring in the whole echo of the surgery...never mind. She'd be too freaked out about further damage to his head in that case to make a romantic jump. I know someone who had surgery like that (may have said it before), but as a kid, and everyone fretted about her head for years. Scratch the head wound.

My, my, we're a vicious, bloodthirsty lot, aren't we?

They say one must suffer for their art, perhaps we're not really bloodthirsty, just misunderstood artists? Rolling Eyes

Anyway, the whole head wound thing - the sheer volume of blood you get from a nice graze is why I wanted to go that direction with Booth. Do it to Brennan and I think he'd get so freaked he'd treat her like fine china which would not be conducive to them smoochin' and could actually backfire when Brennan starts insisting she can take care of herself, yada yada yada. On the flip side, you have a good point - any head wound for Booth might trip Brennan's trigger the wrong way, evoking his mortality and the whole tumor fiasco could just scare her away from getting hurt. So what to do?

How about Brennan gets taken hostage and Booth has to shoot the guy to save her life, thus producing the neccessary drama sans blood (theirs at any rate) to spur them to cross the line and finally smooch?

That might work--and it doesn't even have to be a hostage situation, for all that. Any really dire situation would about do it.
One of them, out of sheer relief, reaches out for the other, and BAM! The Kiss! Something that starts unintentionally but is too good to stop. And then the rescuer can coo all over the little scratches and bruises the other's acquired when EMTs literally pry them apart.

And if we want to find someone, what about the Gravedigger's accomplice? We've more or less come to the conclusion that there had to be one.
