Which book do y'all suggest?

I haven't started reading her books yet, and I'd like to start, but which book should I start on? What one is the best?

I started reading her in the middle of the series with Cross Bones but now I've gone back and started reading the whole series from the beginning and I really do reccomend it. If I had to do it all over again I'd have started with the following:

1) Déjà Dead
2) Death du Jour
3) Deadly Décisions

That'll give you a good feel for the character of Tempe Brennan who's markedly different from the Temperance Brennan on TV. The book version is more...Cam like in many ways, with a Booth tendency to trust her gut. I like both versions, but the book version is more real to me in some ways.

I would def. start with the first one....there is some sort of background story that you won't get 100% if you read them in another order.
But they are all (except for one imo) really really great, so whatever you chose it will be a good one...

oh yeah the Ryan backstory.....I love that almost more than the 'real story'

I guess for me as well......although I have to admit that the book I like least of all, is the one where Ryan isn't really there

Hard question.....
He is a good looking guy, working for the police and always looking out for others.....so that would be a yes
oh and he's an alpha male too
but Book-Brennan is so different from TV-Brennan, that Ryan can't be like Booth (well actually Booth couldn't be like Ryan)

But they are very similar when it comes to 'their women', but you won't really see that in the first books yet.
And they actually get together......well kind of.....you'll see, I don't want to spoil you too much.

I think of it like Booth and book brennan wouldnt work out and ryan and tv brennan wouldnt work out...
But it in each coupling they bring out the best in each other...
