8 weeks??? Shocked Holy stromboli! I didn't realize it was that long a break.

I liked this episode. I thought Booth and Brennan were very cute driving around in her little Prius. Very Happy

If they would have explained the driving I would have liked it a lot better! I know it's silly to stress over some stupid little thing...but it really is annoying me that they didn't even mention it! Especially since booth has almost made such a big deal out of being the one that drives in the past.

I liked how brennan looked pretty freaked out of the "angel" when she thought it was a two way mirror. she held onto booth's arm. it was so cute. I noticed a lot of lines in that episode that have way more meaning than they seemed at first. i'm gonna re-watch it today, but that "I'm gonna distance myself from you so I don't get struck my lightning" (or whatever he said) seems to be huge. Also brennan's speech at the end was huge.

i agree that it was a pretty lame finale. they should have switched them air dates but maybe they had to use what was ready? not sure how long it takes them to edit and send in the final cut.

I disliked the fire transitions. It felt cheap like we were watching a morning cartoon and it was distracting.

Booth....just fell flat for me in this episode. It's hard to go from seeing him in proof in the pudding to this.

I thought the episode chose to deal with heavy religious questions a little more than character interaction. We had the Muslim approach through Arastoo, the Catholic view through Booth and the pragmatic science-focused view of Bones. And, of course, it seemed we had to point out that the one Muslim guy on the show was not anti-American (even though we've seen nothing to suggest otherwise in every other episode he was in). Suspect

The Bones-holding-onto-Booth's-arm was the cutest moment in the episode, and I did like how she described to him what she found beautiful in the end. You could see that he thought she was beautiful as she was describing it. That was sweet. I love you

Otherwise, it was what I consider a "filler" episode and it didn't give me nearly enough B/B interaction and relationship development to carry me through eight weeks of no Bones!

Meegs82 wrote:The ending was fine, but why on EARTH couldn't they have switched the airdate for this epi with last week's? They were pretty much stand-alones, were they not? Am I forgetting something from last week's epi that could have made it not make sense airing this week? I would have MUCH preferred to have gone into an 8-week hiatus with Brennan's love speech rather than their diner banter. It was fine, sweet, very intimate, but still...for a finale? Come ON!
That would have been a much better lead in.

As far as this episode falling flat, I agree. In fact, the way I was thinking it in my head was "who stole the chef's salt shaker? Tastes flat."

Really? I found this week's ending far more satisfying.

The last episode just too big a dose of shipperness and was too jarring coming out from the previous scene with the murderer's confession. There was no connection, and it is obvious that the writers are now making the BB relationship the main focus, then the B plot, and THEN with the case in the background. It's shifted our attentions so much that our "favourite" moments are now just any slightly shipper moments like arm holding. I don't like this change at all.

I'm happy that this episode's ending referred back to the case. Booth was shaken by it, which shows that there is a level of humanity and compassion they feel regarding these gruesome calculated murders they solve. They don't just solve it, forget it and then instantly focus on the B plot like Booth's plumbing or Jared's fiancee.

I feel like I've been extremely grumpy about these last few episodes with the exception of Proof in the Pudding.

They had to point that out because some people (and obviously I'm not talking about anyone here) are idiots.

Oh, and about those flames...I had no problems with them. They're done the themed fade-outs or whatever you want to call them. There was the gambling stuff in Woman/Sand, the movie effects in Headless Witch, and the smoke in Intern. There are others.

I had absolutely no problem with the flames, either. It was the theme and while I didn't necessarily think it was "cool," I didn't mind them, either.

What I think this episode really was is a metaphor for what the long hiatus is for us... it is going to be Hell and will drive us all insane!

And I suspect the reason why this episode was Booth-lite was because he was prepping to shoot the 100th episode. I think he had to do it for this episode because he has a large role in episode 99 and couldn't take any time off then.

I wondered about that, too, but thought it was too early.

That actually makes perfect sense. Last season, he had a small role in "The Princess And The Pear" because he was prepping to direct "The Bones That Foam," which aired the next week.
