I think the problem with Hacker is actually the producers!! For some reason since season 4 they have over done the goofiness. The thing is if they want goofiness on the show they need to incorporate it into the right character.

Having Booth overly goofy or an ADD is wrong. Having a space cadet such as the stalker/informant in 'Secret in the Soil'/'Outhouse' is great for goofiness!

You make an excellent point. When I think back to classics such as VitS, tWiL or AiaS, they were able to add humor without being cartoonish. *pondering* scratch

I would love to see maybe an FBI agent who is a regular as sort of a 'jinxed' character who is getting training under Booth. He doesn't even have to be goofy but his 'jinx' just makes him look unlucky but loved by the fans!

It's so odd to me that they have such trouble with writing hacker. they write/wrote hodgins/sweets/zack as such great characters. all three of them are hilarious at times...without having to be goofy. they FIT IN with the other characters and in their "profession." It's fully believable that each of those three are what they are.

hacker on the other hand? no way I ever bought him as getting to be that high in the FBI. he's a push over. You can't go from Cullen....to that. His character was completely done for comic relief (imo) and a bad one at that. It's not like they need hacker to prove to brennan that booth is the man for her. Unless he turns out to be the GD....I think he's pretty pointless lol

But.....according to hart that's the wrong view to have so what do I know? lol

Hacker is the exact opposite of Booth. A love interest for Brennan? Please!!! He is not what she holds "dear" to her. The lion heart, courage, etc...like she sees in Booth. I am not going to speculate as to why this moronic character serves for in the season...but one hopes HH does have an ultimate goal...b/c if he IS a love interest then the writers are doing a POOR job of it. Which...one hopes when Booth's love interest comes on they do the same? nervous

i agree with you completely. if they wanted a "love interest" they would have gone for someone MORE like booth....someone who was a real threat like sully could have been. it makes me wonder too, what his purpose was. Because right now it seems like it's just a poor way to show someone complete opposite of booth. we know how awesome booth is!! lol

one of hart's lastest tweets said "the season five finale of bones exists....turning over to squarechicken now to see it through. Guilty takes over...

deff more evidence to the changing of the guard theory. this could actually be a good thing.

I was going to say the same thing but people say I read too much into stuff so I waited for someone else to say it first!

This whole 'Hart getting another series' never sat right with me from the first announcement. I just started questioning why looking everywhere for clues. It seems they are still coming in from all over....

In this case I don't think you are reading too into it at all. Just the way he talks about "guilty" and how he's "leaving bones in good hands" makes me feel like it will be a change. He'll still be the showrunner sure at least on paper. But, it seems like his mind will be elsewhere.
