Ugh, I hope not! I have to agree that if some guy I just had a ONS with came up with some sort of "this is kismet" infatuation thing, I'd be pretty freaked (wouldn't anyone?!). But then, Bren didn't seem freaked to see him in the pilot, not even awkward. Just pissed. And Booth seemed pretty composed too, cocky, not even a trace of rejection for the whole of S1 (and she did date that cult-guy so it's not like he didn't have opportunity to look bummed). I'm tossing my $0.02 and saying she insulted him on a personal level somehow (she didn't know he was a sniper at that point, remember? Probably didn't know he was such a devout Catholic, either). And he insulted her either professionally by not taking her seriously, or personally by pointing out her social stuntedness -maybe called her something akin to "cold fish" like Cam did in tEitB.

Though if you wanna say that she propositioned him and he said no, I could get on board with that too...she was really pissed...

After I stopped at Booth's hair I re-played it - and that was just so good

Good point, he spent most of S1 being just thiiiiis far from slapping her - or throwing her against the wall and having his way with her. While Brennan had barely restrained contempt for him for the first three episodes, and was more than a little hostile up until "The Boy in the Bush" when she finally started to act like he wasn't the most detestable man on the planet. So whatever it was must have been something, that's for sure.

First, I'm expecting this episode to have alot of complaints because of the looks or people will be yelling inconsistancies left & right. Let's face it, this show does not know what consistancy is.

That being said, they were looking at each other like they were a piece of chocolate!

Okay, here's something that would just crack me up and just piss Brennan off. What if they start kissing and he whispers to her "You're amazing Bones". This is the first time he's ever called her Bones!! She starts going off on calling her nicknames but he keeps it up. Slap!!

i only hope people can look past the inconsistancies and enjoy the episode for what it is. we know they aren't good at it. we should all just accept it now.

No matter what i will enjoy this episode for the fact that since the first time i saw the pilot i said "i wonder what happened in the past to make them hate each other" just knowing the whole story will thrill me.

I wonder if hart had an idea in his head of their first meeting....so that the stuff in season one matches up or if he just made it up completely now and tried to get it to make sense with season one. I kinda want to ask him but am afraid of twitter lol

I don't think they had sex. There's that time brennan says he has no knowledge and in season four booth says "are you this spontaneous in bed" or something. doesn't seem like they know about each other in that way at all.

I do think a kiss is a possibility followed by the slap. So they start off enjoying each other, then work together and have issues and get irritated. I'M SURE brennan will infuriate and insult him and he will do the same to her. Maybe he gets frustrated and kisses her like we've wanted to see him do so many times only she slaps him.

Yep, continuity and consistency are not exactly by-words on this show but they've been much, much better this season so lets hope they keep trending green.

That's not bad - that's evil. Actually I'm all for them going at it hot and heavy and him saying something so amazingly sappy that she stops them in mid snuggle and starts going all antrho on him. Talk about mood killer! Then she wants to resume and he's like "Forget it, moments over" and that starts the fight that keeps going and going and going...

HH, SN, DB, ED and Fox all thought this was just a 3 season series at it best. They never even thought it would make it to 100 episodes let alone know if they would have a flashback to their first meeting!

They are just making it up now trying to figure out where they were 5 years ago.

I don't really mean if they knew they would have a flashback eppy. I just mean as a writer, did he envision their first meeting in his head? The first thing i would have done was think "ok....how did these two meet...what happened....ect." before penning the pilot but i'm not hart...so who knows.

Everyone seems so sure that an attempted kiss would result in Brennan's slapping Booth. I am not so sure about that. She is nowhere near shy and not the type who would take a man's move on her as an insult (esp. not an alpha male-type like Booth to which she is usually attracted to). I think she'd rather slap Booth for something he said that irritates or hurts her.

Like you I'm not thinking it's an attempt to kiss her that gets Brennan to slap Booth, rather I'm willing to bet they start kissing and they both get into it only he stops suddenly frustrating and confusing her. Booth's a heart guy, Brennan's a brain girl, he's bound to say something she misunderstands or takes the wrong way and feeling hurt/rejected she slaps him. That's my theory anyway.
