OK, this person is extremely talented. She did a drawing of Emily too ~ which I will put in her section.

I know! I cannot draw at all. My 5 year old is better at it than I am.

Yep even if I try to trace something I fail miserably and it looks unrecognisable.

that's because it is a photo......I think she/he just took the photo told photoshop to change it to 'pencil drawing' and that's it
because it looks exactly like the photo

well I can't be sure of course, but I think it is too exact to be a real drawing....
maybe (s)he just traced it though and that's why it looks so real

It hurts me to read this, because I know the artist and she doesn't trace, and it is definitely not a Photoshop job, I'd like to see anyone pull that off convincingly without being called out on it straight away. There is no Photoshop filter that can create something like this. She has perfected her talent over the years, but her work hasn't always been so flawless. If you went through her gallery, you'd see a progression. It's a shame that in this digital age real traditional skill has been put in doubt. Now anything that looks too good is accused of being a fake or a Photoshop job. Until you can come close to recreating the same effect you can't assume that that is what someone has done. Some people have alerted her of drawings being spread around, and she has expressed nervousness that the people out there will question the authenticity of her work.

She is accused of the same thing all the time. She has proved the authenticity by meeting with other artists who have taken photos of her work and have posted them to show that it is definitely not a fake. Some people just are that good.
