Another crazy idea that popped into my head

What if she is leaving in the cab planning to meet him back at her place and he gets a call and he has to do something and he can't tell her what it is and she thinks its just an excuse and he's backed off and that's why they have a falling out?

And in the finale he finally tells her the truth.

I think I've seen every other scenario out there except for Booth running off with Hodgins.

Your scenario makes sense too-I had thought of something similar to that myself. Especially after watching the one episode-I forget what it is right off the top of my head, but the one where he says there are some people you can't just have sex with.
My thought was maybe she gets in the cab, and he says he will meet her at her place and then never shows up. He 2nd guesses it or something, either because he really does like her and doesn't want just a one night stand, or maybe decides he can't ruin his FBI image by sleeping with a squint.
We'll find out in 3 more days!!!!!

I just wanted to mention that we did (as a joke!) consider that Booth might be gay......if some of the newbies (who obviously didn't get that we were joking since they don't know me or Rob yet) hadn't thought we were really thinking that he might be gay, I am sure we would have discussed the possibility of "Hooth" or "Sack" or "Bodgins" or "Jeeley" or whatever strange name we would have come up with.....so do not worry, we would have gotten there

My friend and I actually talked about if Booth was differently orientated who would he make a better pairing with Sweets or Hodgins?
