@ Katherine - " Did Howard Epps have a brother." That is the funniest line I've read today. I don't know why. But every time I read it or say it, I crack up! Thank you! thumbsup

joybrennan wrote:@ rexcat - it's an interesting argument, one that gives me slight hope that something good could come out of this mess. However, you're using the same logic as Julia from clickclack, which I find to be flawed. The arguement is that Brennan's reaction was completely in character and therefore the entire thing makes sense. You don't explicitly say "don't look at Booth (which Julia does) but your statement implies he isn't a factor. HE IS. Without really getting into Brennan's intial freakout (it was a bit too much for a woman who in the previous episode said she now believes in love - because of Booth.) Let's look at Booth's reaction to her intial panic. He's knows Brennan, knows when it comes to people, relationships and change, she moves slowly. When he's trying to get her to see something he doesn't try to hammer it in. He'll make a suggestion, let her mull it over, ask questions, etc. WHY, on the biggest shift relationshipwise in her life, would he bombard her with talk of married couples who've been together forty or fifty years? Booth's pushing hardcore, when he KNOWS if you push her she'll cling even more tightly to her position, doesn't make sense - at least not to me. Brennan DOES react in typical Brennan fashion here, but the cause of the reaction makes the whole thing appear to be contrived. Especially given the direction of the entire season up to that point.

Your points about what could happen moving forward from this is helpful. It shows a way that things could get back on track. Smile As for the end of the hundreth, I have come to a place where I can work with it: Brennan panicked and Booth went temporarily insane. Not great writing choices, very forced and contrieved, but it's what's been done. Luckily, ED and DB are amazing actors, or it really would have sucked to watch. :p If that scene gets ED an emmy nod, I might even think it was worth it. Wink

O. M. G. You just said it...everything I've been thinking. During the flipping episode, I was yelling at Booth "you moron, you can't push her, what are you doing?!" And then I was going on and on about how Booth KNOWS her and would never act that way unless...he's gone temporarily insane. Yup, bad writing for Booth, practically trashing 5 seasons worth of character development. Unless you argue that Sweets' little talk and his "nudge" suddenly convince Booth to take that leap. He DOES respect Sweets now, so...it's possible...but still...very Un-Booth-Like.

LOL I agree. And the line before it... "I want all this while a terrible serial killer is running around the streets of DC." LMAO!! Others may not understand, but we fellow Bones fans completely get it Katherine! [Only admins are allowed to see this image]

I also think Angela and Hodgins should get pregnant this year. I don't want it to be B&B, but I want Brennan to experience that close up. She could if Angela was pregnant. I think her best friend being pregnant would "more humanize" Brennan's maternal instincts. I want all this while a terrible new serial killer is running around the streets of DC.
Did Howard Epps have a brother. He was the best killer because we got to see him personally throughout his reign of torture.

THIS. I have said all spring that I think Hodgela is a test for B&B. There have been no serious relationships for the main characters in the history of the show. It's just not THAT kind of show. Putting Hodgela together is a preview of what we will see with a B&B relationship. Brennan's best friend is now married. Angela was every bit as afraid of commitment as Brennan, although for different reasons. Hodgins is a scientist who believes in love. If Hodgela can work, maybe Brennan will see that she and Booth can work. If Hodgela gets pregnant, Brennan will revisit her desire to want a baby. She will see a real family 1st hand and in her face. I'm really starting to think that midway through S6 we will see a Hodgela pregnancy (PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE don't let them return pregnant or with a baby) which in return will be where Brennan will hopefully let herself give in and fall.
