"My friends and I on the host committee were inspired by Lisa's work to bring attention to and better the lives of our sisters in the Congo," Deschanel tells The Dish Rag. "We were horrified when Lisa informed us about the conditions of the women in this war-torn country and were motivated to better their lives, doing our part, however small, to help in this crisis."
