Avatar=Person Phenomenon
Okay, so there's been a very funny phenomenon I've noticed lately. People avatar's set the tone for their post or for who they are.
For example, I remember a while back, it was talked about how when you look at an icon with a picture of a guy (a lot of people have Booth icons) you think you're talking to a guy, and vice versa.
See a funny icon, you expect a witty person. A cool icon, a cool person.
In my case, now that I have a creepy looking icon (and I have to admit, it does look a bit serial killer-ish
) sometimes people are subconsciously a little less friendly than when I had my old avatar.
Anyway, it was just something cute and funny I had noticed lately. Has anybody else seen the same thing?
Also, it reminded me that this is simply a part of the human condition. We get judged based on appearances- even when you can't see our faces! I feel like I'm in junior high all over again! Heehee.

Neither do I, but if I talk to that member again (if they're a newbie, if they're one of the "old" members, we already know eachother), I usually can recognize them by their icon.

I haven't noticed that, mine was a realitively political avatar for weeks ( I just changed it back to a Bones themed one today) and I haven't noticed that anyone treated me any differently.
