Sooo Brennan is an abusive woman and she loves Booth too much to be with him, because knowing he's a child of abuse she knows what it would do to him once she started slapping him around. But what if Booth liked it rough? Really rough? What if he got turned on when Brennan slapped him around...yep, twisted.joybrennan wrote:THX1138 wrote:Yeah, I can't see Booth ever lifting a hand to Brennan but if they wrote anything like that I'd almost orefer a situation where they're mutually abusive with Brennan giving as good as she gets.jsgemini wrote:Is Booth too nice of a guy to be abusive? no. Oh geez. That reminds me of the episode "The Man with the Bone" ([Only admins are allowed to see this image]) Nope, there's no way Booth likes it rough. The look he has on his face when he confronts that masochistic doctor and the doctor insinuates that he likes it with men as well as women?

I don't know about the rough sex thing...but early on in season six, I think watching Brennan "accidentally" flip Booth when he's, for instance, trying to detain her for a
conversation she doesn't want to have, could be quite amusing.

Twisted Idea With A Spin...
Flove twisted ideas.
Flove the storyteller that Eminem is.
The idea of this being between B/B...No.
On the other hand...
This song is actually about a mutually abusive relationship as told from the man's point of view.
The female is not defending herself.
She's abusing the man equally.
This would make an excellent murder scene.
House burnt down. Two bodies inside. Appears to be murder / suicide. Only turns out the man died first. Perhaps he started the fire while they were still battling it out. She kills him & then dies from her own injuries / smoke inhalation. Now that's powerful.
What trips the hell out of me is the reality portion of this song...it features RHIANNA!
Who hasn't seen the pictures of her face after she was abused.
Cannot fathom why she would want to sing on this song.
Unless she thinks its a parable against the violence.
Go figure.

Re: Twisted idea but I wanna put it out there
The video is about a mutually abusive relationship, the song mentions that the girls temper is as bad as the guys, and that they fight, it does not say that she "abuses" him, They fight with each other, neither is more responsible than the other, until the end of the song. Essentially he's saying that yeah WE fight with each other, but I will kill you if you try to leave me again...It depends on how you look at it, I see the SONG as anti-abuse message, because it gives Women the Point of view of the abuser... Who's a liar.
Just gonna stand there
And watch me burn
But that's alright
Because I like
The way it hurts
Just gonna stand there
And hear me cry
But that's alright
Because I love
The way you lie
I love the way you lie
I love the way you lie
I can't tell you what it really is
I can only tell you what it feels like
And right now there's a steel knife
In my windpipe
I can't breathe
But I still fight
While I can fight
As long as the wrong feels right
It's like I'm in flight
High of a love
Drunk from the hate
It's like I'm huffing paint
And I love it the more that I suffer
I sufficate
And right before im about to drown
She resuscitates me
She fucking hates me
And I love it
Wait
Where you going
I'm leaving you
No you ain't
Come back
We're running right back
Here we go again
It's so insane
Cause when it's going good
It's going great
I'm Superman
With the wind in his bag
She's Lois Lane
But when it's bad
It's awful
I feel so ashamed
I snap
Who's that dude
I don't even know his name
I laid hands on her
I'll never stoop so low again
I guess I don't know my own strength
Just gonna stand there
And watch me burn
But that's alright
Because I like
The way it hurts
Just gonna stand there
And hear me cry
But that's alright
Because I love
The way you lie
I love the way you lie
I love the way you lie
You ever love somebody so much
You can barely breathe
When you're with them
You meet
And neither one of you
Even know what hit 'em
Got that warm fuzzy feeling
Yeah them chills
Used to get 'em
Now you're getting fucking sick
Of looking at 'em
You swore you've never hit 'em
Never do nothing to hurt 'em
Now you're in each other's face
Spewing venom
And these words
When you spit 'em
You push
Pull each other's hair
Scratch, claw, bit 'em
Throw 'em down
Pin 'em
So lost in the moments
When you're in 'em
It's the rage that took over
It controls you both
So they say it's best
To go your separate ways
Guess that they don't know ya
Cause today
That was yesterday
Yesterday is over
It's a different day
Sound like broken records
Playin' over
But you promised her
Next time you'll show restraint
You don't get another chance
Life is no Nintendo game
But you lied again
Now you get to watch her leave
Out the window
Guess that's why they call it window pane
Just gonna stand there
And watch me burn
But that's alright
Because I like
The way it hurts
Just gonna stand there
And hear me cry
But that's alright
Because I love
The way you lie
I love the way you lie
I love the way you lie
Now I know we said things
Did things
That we didn't mean
And we fall back
Into the same patterns
Same routine
But your temper's just as bad
As mine is
You're the same as me
But when it comes to love
You're just as blinded
Baby please come back
It wasn't you
Baby it was me
Maybe our relationship
Isn't as crazy as it seems
Maybe that's what happens
When a tornado meets a volcano
All I know is
I love you too much
To walk away though
Come inside
Pick up your bags off the sidewalk
Don't you hear sincerity
In my voice when I talk
Told you this is my fault
Look me in the eyeball
Next time I'm pissed
I'll aim my fist
At the dry wall
Next time
There will be no next time
I apologize
Even though I know it's lies
I'm tired of the games
I just want her back
I know I'm a liar
If she ever tries to fucking leave again
I'mma tie her to the bed
And set the house on fire
Just gonna stand there
And watch me burn
But that's alright
Because I like
The way it hurts
Just gonna stand there
And hear me cry
But that's alright

Re: Twisted idea but I wanna put it out there
treble21 Regarding the song...Neither does it label the man the abuser either, but everyone is declaring him the abuser in this thread.
Song doesn't need to label him an abuser because it's clear that he's an abuser, but it doesn't make her the victim.
She's an abuser too.
In an abusive relationship it's always going to go bad. Most often there is an innocent (non-abuser) in the relationship, but in this song neither is an innocent & while he takes it to the next notch, and we know it because the song is from his point of view, we don't know her point-of-view which might be "If you raise your hand at me again I'm going to light this joint up" ala The Burning Bed.
After review of the lyrics I'll concede that it is an anti-abuse song, but not only because it shows women that an abuser is a liar. It's an anti-abuse song in that it shows that anger and violence escalates no matter the perpetrator.
The lies are also the same no matter the gender saying them.
The majority of Eminem's audience is men, and his message speaks to them two fold...don't be a perpetrator, and maybe a man can be a victim too.
Women as abusers are often discounted / overlooked, and this song shows a female abuser & that neither one of them is right. Perhaps male victims of abuse will hear this & stand up for themselves by getting out of the relationship just as we hope for women who hear the song.
Perhaps I have a different viewpoint because I am a survivor of a female abuser. I wasn't in a sexual relationship with her ever. She is a family member by blood. Only time, space, and counseling made it possible to feel comfortable & of my own strength in her presence. She is family so I cannot eliminate her from my life completely, but now if she raises her voice even an octave I separate myself from the situation. I also see that she's not the same person she was 20 years ago, but I will never take down my defensive wall completely in her presence.
Regarding Bones...I could still get behind this twisted idea if it is a case B/B are working on as I laid out in my last post.
Perhaps the B/B moment could be that one or both of them share more about the abuse they survived.
Maybe it will be the time for Bones to reveal to Booth what Hank revealed to her about Booth's father.
Then maybe she could hold him as she promised Hank.
Not a bad s/l idea - public service type episode with a domestic violence case, and progression of the B/B relationship. May not be such a twisted idea.

Re: Twisted idea but I wanna put it out there
I totally agree that lies are the same from abusers regardless of gender, if you look at my previous posts I have already gone over the fact that there is defintely abusers that are either gender, I've experienced both in my life . That is not in dispute at all, but is also not really the case in this song either. Looking at the lyrics completely separate from the video, the "woman" is portrayed as having a temper and actively participating in the fights, but she's also portrayed as wanting it to end. The man clearly doesn't want it to end, because in his mind he's already planning ways to stop her if she leaves him again, That's what makes him the "abuser" in this situation

Re: Twisted idea but I wanna put it out there
treble21 I've enjoyed our exchange.
I think it's nice when two adults can have an amicable, respectful discussion where their viewpoints differ.
That isn't always the case on some message boards.
I think we're going to have to agree to disagree on our view of the characters within Eminem's story (and I think all of his songs are just stories with music in the background). In my view once an abuser always an abuser, and even if the woman - who has been an abuser- intimates that she wants the violence to end there is a point of no return because as we have already agreed abusers are liars so how is he - or we - to know that in her protests she's not lying.
From what you've shared I know you are aware of the fear that a person suffering abuse has of when the next assault will come, when the shoe will drop. In this story both are abusers & the abused so they have the rage of the abuser & the fear of the abused at the same time...which will only equal nasty violence leading to mutual destruction at some point. Mutual destruction is especially assured because the normal dynamic of having an abuser who wants to beat down the person they're abusing & a person who is being abused who only seeks escape from the abuse is bastardized because instead you have two people who's basic attitude is to beat the other person down coming at each other repeatedly without end. Again she may intimate that she wants the violence to end, but by her history she would likely give as good as she gets should he come at her.
Entirely off topic, but something I've been meaning to touch on with you...I FLOVE your tagline!!!!
Just to be clear...I continue to appreciate HH's brilliance,
I think Season 6 is going to cumulatively make me VERY happy,
and should it progress as outlined by SN & HH elsewhere I cannot fathom how it could not continue at least through Season 7 (but personally would love to see Seasons 8-9-10
). Now please join me in a very irreverent, entirely irresponsible happy dance!
