Oh, she's a tramp (that was one of the tame adjectives used to describe her mind you Hacker In Night at the Bones Museum so if we're justifying Booth dating Hannah with the fact that B&B aren't in a relationship, next time Brennan goes on a date, she should be supported too since THEY AREN'T IN A RELATIONSHIP.
I dislike Brennan dating hacker just as much as i hate the up coming SO arch, But if we're going to justifying it, why stop with Booth/Hannah
I completely agree with this too, and I defended Brennan then just like I'm defending Booth now, I like them both so I refuse to pick sides.
I agree with this - up to a point. The damn 100th episode shifted the playing field. Up until then; not only were they not in a commited relationship, but no one was claiming that they wanted one. That's what makes the Raghag thing difficult for me. All his stuff about the importance of love etc, and on his first attempt he just gives up and hooks up with someone else? Yes, he's allowed and has the right to, but it, for me, completely wipes out the idea thahat he knows Brennan is "The One" or that he's in love with her. It makes him, to me, as clueless as Brennan about his feelings, which is frustrating. He's supposed to be the one that understands this stuff and now I see that he DOESN'T. It's the blind leading the blind.
So it's not that I'm mad at Booth. It just changes my perception of him - and the situation annoys me because it now gives Brennan a reason not to trust his feelings towards her. Which means this saga can drag on even more.[Only admins are allowed to see this image][Only admins are allowed to see this link] alt="" />
My comment about them being able to date others, referred to earlier in their relationship...before either of them had a clue as to their feelings or the feelings of the other party. The problem here..is everyone measures their actions by their own feelings toward them rather than the relationship status that was true at the time that the show presented it.
Earlier they were merely partners...they had no personal relationship beyone, adiration trust and mutual beneficial partnership. Each had other partners. Booth dated Tessa, Becca and Cam...slept with all of them...Brennan slept with a few guys too. Later she went on dates, as did Booth, but their relationship had grown to a point where both felt hesitant to upset the other, so they both stopped short of carrying it farther. Sure Brennan went on dates with Hacker...because he asked her on dates...Booth didn't...but she made it very clear to Booth that she was not interested in having sex with Hacker. Why? Obviously becuase she was aware that having sex with Hacker would be going too far..because deep down she would always compare him to Booth. She's not aware of these feelings...but we are. She has stated over and over exactly how she feels about Monogamy, religion etc. So has Booth...Neither has completely accepted the other's view, yet both respect eachother's right to those views. Both would defent the other's rights to be who they are to anyone who tried to take away that right!
When Booth asked her to "give this thing a chance" and she said NO. He was devastated! He finally believed that she just couldn't change...in his heart he gave up. He's tired of being alone. He's tired of being patient, becuase he now believes that she means what she says...She Can't Change...and he accepts her as she is...and he clearly states..."I have to move on...I have to find someone who will love me" He just can't go on without love any longer. I don't like it, becuase I know how Brennan feels...but he doesn't...He is not watching her every move like we are. He accepts and moves forward ... Like people do. To do anything less at that point would be mentally stalkish and sick! If we didn't love him so much, we would see that!
The bolded part is the only place I disagree. Over six years, Booth HAS watched Brennan alot - enough to know when something upsets or bothers her. If, before the 100th someone asked Booth if Brennan had changed any since he's known her, I have no doubt his answer would be a resounding yes. Furthermore, he helped facilitate some of those changes. He has watched as he plants an idea in her head, one that she may outright reject, only to accept and incorporate the idea a bit later. He KNOWS she's more than capable of change. Heck, she'd just admiited to changing her ENTIRE BELIEF SYSTEM on the exsistence of love two episodes prior!
I do agree that Booth gave up, Which is why I HATE the way this was written. I've said it before: in the 100th Booth acted like he'd never met Brennan in his life - never mind knowing anything about her. It's been suggested that Booth was too inside his own thoughts and feelings about what was happening to be present to what was going on. That he was expecting rejection even before he started. It would also explain why this is the FIRST direct attempt he's really made well as why he didn't seem to really take in what was up with Brennan and simply gave up. Buying the idea that he BELIEVES Brennan can't change - when he knows she has - nope, can't buy it.
Meanwhile Brennan is dealing with the fact that she does love him...she's just not emotionally aware that she can LOVE> She does what she thinks is right for him...becuase if she tries and fails, she will Kill him...and herself in the process....But doing the right thing, isn't easy...and when that person finally does leave...you feel empty...and you feel everything you've been trying not to feel for so long. This season is about Brennan finally realizing that even though she wants him to be happy...which is in itself the deepest form of love...she also is starting to believe that maybe she CAN be the one that makes him happy...that she can do things she didn't think she can do...and that she threw him into the arms of someone who doens't make him happy, but he's there because she pushed him into it. And I believe we will see her change of heart.
I'm as frustrated as the rest of you...I don't want to see Booth with Raghag...I hate the storyline...but in many ways...it's more real abd sane than if Booth just kept pining away throwing away the rest of his life when she said NO>
I understand that no eveone on here thinks as deeply and as openmindedly as others...but this show is about deep thinking...If you love it, you've got to accept it's basic premise..and that is... Everyone's feelings matter...everyone's accepted as they are...everyone supports eacother...everyone is flawed..and everyone is worthy of love and accaptance.

I think all these factors come into play in their current circumstances which is why we're all so frustrated, and untill the episodes start airing we're just going in circles. They've given out just enough spoilers to give everyone a point to argue. The only thing we can do is wait to see how this arc evolves the characters

You say that Booth knows Brennan can change...Yes he does, and if her change, or her fears were directed at someone else, he would make her see...he would argue...he would cajole...but it's very personal...she rejected HIM..she said she couldn't change for HIM and that is very different. He backed down, because deep down, he doesn't feel he deserves her. He feels that he isn't smart enough...or worthy enough...he feels guilty for his life before Brennan. He believes in love...He believes in Brennan...but there's this secret place inside of himself that doubt Booth! And when he got up the nerve to ask her to "give this thing a chance" and she rejected him...he just confirmed his worst fears...He's not enough! But Booth being the man he is...MOVES FORWARD..and tries to keep living. But we all know, that she is still there in his heart! First and foremost!
I ABSOLUTELY DO think Booth had self-doubts. That's why I said he was into his own thought and feelings and not present. It's HIS doubts, fears, etc, that had to have blinded him to how ridiculous Brennan's reasoning was. That's the only way I can make any sense of it at all.
