yep that is correct there was a ratings drop off after the months it was off air mid season when returned, (just noted the post 100 epi final ratings as they did not decline to 7.2 as said)joybrennan wrote:Chocolate Chip wrote:RE: Ratings - The final ratings for the post 100th epis were in the 9 + million range.![]()

I think Bones had done fairly well with ratings in the first part of S5 especially against Survivor that usually generated between 12 - 14 million viewers. Then I think the hiatus killed Bones - 2 months off the air -then to come back with the not so great episodes made them really drop off. The Big Bang Theory that they will be up against this season is mainly like Survivors ratings, generally around 13 million. That may have been in part by the great night that CBS had on Mondays and not necessarily just that show.
I also don't want Bones to be hurt by dropping ratings, but I want better shows. I really think that late last season, I was so caught up in the fact that I thought it was going to be will they, instead of won't they, that I didn't care as much about the cases. I can remember FF through some of the episode just to get to a B&B moment. Then I'd think what was that case about?????
That has to change. S1 - mid S4 had some great cases. Maybe HH was too preoccupied with trying to get his new show on the air that he didn't pay enough attention to his writing staff. We know he doesn't write all of the shows. I know that it must be hard to come up with great cases after 5 years, but hopefully this year they will try harder.

I'm going to be an optimist......just think of all the scenes we are going to see of Booth and Barbie's relationship falling apart....Booth realising that he can't be in that relationship, that he has made a big mistake and is hurting Brennan in the meantime, seeing how much she could possibly have changed while she was in Maluku, and just how much he is falling in love with her all over again after spending all that time apart....I also think that when Booth says 'serious as a heart attack', to me it sounds like he is trying to convince himself, more than anyone, that it's a good, stable relationship. He's trying to show Brennan that he wants it, he wants to be happy, but in reality, it just isn't happening for him because he's not with the woman that he really wants...sure, he might like Hannah, but it's not the real deal. And it will eat him up inside. I don't think we should be as worried about Barbie as everyone seems to be....

Bones did really well - until after the hundredth. Hart can say all he wants about the break effecting the viewership, but it's the same viewship he was praising for being willing to follow
the show all over the schedule in different time slots, etc. So, what the audience has suddenly forgotten how to track. when the show was coming back on

Back one page people were talking about fans that are rude or bombard Hart on twitter. I agree that isn't cool. but I also think that the format of Twitter where you only have a certain number of characters..makes people sound rude or too direct, because they just don't have the words to make it sound more polite.
That being said....We can tell him anything we like...we can have our opinions and just because he goes forward with something that we don't like...does not mean that he doesn't care or doesn't listen.
People give advice all the time..and their advice all contraticts one and other.... people can take advice or not take advice...or they can split the difference...it doesn't mean that your advice was not factored into the decision. Ultimately he needs to trust his own judgment becuase he is the creator and showrunner...if he fails...he fails on his own judgment.
It's like those game shows...like price is right...they get up there...chance of a lifetime...and then they keep looking back at the audience to tell them what to do..I always wonder why they give away control when it's their chance? I think I personally would .listen to them...then make my own choice... At least if it doesn't work out..it was my own choice. If it does...I did it!
I've tweeted Hart and been answered...doesn't mean I think we have some special relationship and now he owes me to do things my way...or he doesn't care or he's mean. It's his show. I hope he isn't making a big mistake because I would miss the show...but it's his mistake and he owns it. We don't! We can watch or not watch! That's it!
We are the Canary in the Coal mine... the harbingers of the total flock of viewers...but even we don't agree! See my point?
