Bones' lead character, Temperance Brennan, is a forensic anthropologist who's always a geek but whose level of social ineptness magically varies with the plot. Sarcasm, metaphors, and pop culture references are often lost on her. But somehow she still managed to become a best selling author. Funny how that happens.
