I think Rebecca and Parker would have to be on the 'approved' list. There's no way he'd let his son think he was dead. I think the same goes for the rest of his family.

yes, but If i was Brennan being the logical smart woman that she is i would note this and wonder about it. Ya know?
Obviously, he wouldn't want his kid to think his dad was dead, but i was thinking more on Temperance's side if Parker or Rebecca weren't there than something's up.

Ah yes. I think she was more emotionally wrought than she wanted to let on though. Just my take. Normal rationale was out the window while she just tried to keep a lid on the emotions. She was practically jumping out of her skin in the effort.

also i don't know if i would take my 5? year old son to his father's funeral. so that was the least strange part of the whole thing to me. definitely not as strange as no parents showing up and no one crying! not even cam.
but didn't e.d. just do an amazing job in that scene?? that was exactly how i would have pictured brennan's reaction. super-controlled while you could see the anger and desperation bubbling under the surface the whole time. the way she said "if there was a merciful god, why didn't he save booth" omg, that was just heartbreaking.

Lena, she was Awesome! She played that emotion over an emotion so well, it's easy to feel bad for her, especially now, i didn't get it much in S1, but definitely now with Booth breaking her down and Sweets couples therapy it's helped to soften her shell and Emily portrays that amazingly!
Back to topic, I don't think it's all that odd, i would take me 5 year old to a funeral, especially for a parent. I think it comes with good parenting. Like sex, it's hard for a parent to talk about death (esp. of another parent) but if you talk to them, they will understand. 5 year olds aren't stupid.

Parker and Rebecca not being at the funeral could be explained by Booth having two funerals. I know that sounds silly, but let me explain!!
His parents, who live in PA, may have a family plot they would like to put him in, so Parker and Rebecca could say that they are going up there so Parker can be near family. If Bones asked of course!
Oh, and I too have thought about this willgirl. I actually paused the show and had to think about it before I moved on (which really annoyed the people around me who kept saying things like "Who cares, play the episode" and "It is a TV show, get over it").
Thankfully, I was able to convince myself of the above senario and could finish watching!

In the deleted scenes in the movie, you can actually see her in a scene where she talks to Idina's character (Nancy).
